In a surprising twist, Nicole confides in Maggie about her plan to move, and Maggie offers to have Holly stay with her. “You are literally saving my life,” Holly says, hugging Maggie. However, Holly’s happiness is short-lived when she remembers that Tate’s mother, Teresa, lives with Maggie and despises her. Maggie reassures Holly that it won’t be a problem and explains what happened with Teresa.
Meanwhile, Nicole is comforted by the fact that Holly will be with her grandmother while she and Eric move to Paris. Holly encourages her mom and Eric to take the chance to finally be happy.
At the Brady Bar, Justin and Eric discuss the complexities of Alex’s parentage. Justin is relieved it turned out to be a huge lie. Both Justin and Eric have faced deep crises with their children, but Justin reminds him it’s almost over. However, Eric shares his concerns about EJ’s threats and seeks Justin’s help with Sloan. Justin promises a quick divorce, although Eric laments that Nicole’s situation isn’t as straightforward.
Eric reveals his plan to move to Paris with Nicole, and Justin offers to help expedite Nicole’s divorce in his absence, but Eric declines. Justin wishes him luck with the move.
Elsewhere, Alex and Brady discuss Teresa’s scheme to name Alex as the Kiriakis heir. Brady is not surprised that Teresa ran off, leaving chaos behind for others to clean up. Alex confronts Teresa about why she didn’t leave town. Teresa admits she almost left but couldn’t, feeling she needed to take responsibility for her actions. She insists she returned to explain herself, especially to Alex.
Alex is furious, feeling Teresa has given him an identity crisis. Teresa claims she believed Xander didn’t deserve the fortune and thought Alex did. Brady interjects, pointing out it wasn’t Teresa’s decision to make. Alex, disillusioned, argues that Teresa always prioritizes herself and tells her he doesn’t want to see or hear from her again.
In tears, Teresa asks Alex to drive her to the police station to do the right thing, but Alex refuses. Brady, frustrated, tells Teresa he doesn’t hate her but is deeply disappointed. He worries about the impact on their child when he learns his mother betrayed the family.
Teresa admits she was misled by Constantine and regrets her actions. She confesses she resorted to these measures because of Brady, reminding him of their failed relationship. Brady admits he rejected her out of denial of his feelings and now feels they weren’t meant to be.
As Brady leaves, Teresa reflects on her mistakes. Maggie enters, and Teresa apologizes for everything, acknowledging the mess she made. Maggie accepts her apology, signaling a chance for redemption.
