Emrhys Cooper, 39, is known amongst Coronation Street viewers for playing the role of the evil Rowan Cunliffe.
His character is one of the leaders of the Altovalent Institute, and he managed to worm his way into Weatherfield and manipulate Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).
After she attended one of his self-help classes alongside her son Simon (Alex Bain), she started to follow his misguided way of life.
Loyal soap fans were left absolutely shocked as the character became more distant from her family which includes her sister, Toyah (Georgia Taylor), and fiance, Nick (Ben Price).
They were disgusted when she started to speak to an AI avatar of her dead son Oliver, at the behest of Rowan.
In recent scenes, Leanne even tried to induct Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) into the cult.
We previously reported that the actor had quit the soap after only seven months on the cobbles.
Now it seems that he has confirmed his departure as he took to his social media to say that he is now ‘back home’.
Emrhys posted a picturesque behind-the-scenes sunset video onto his Instagram where he relaxed by a luxury pool in palm springs.
He captioned the short panoramic story: “So good to be home @palmsprings_casaderosa.”

But before his final scenes, it seems there is still more to come from the star.
He previously revealed that Coronation Street fans will soon learn more of Rowan’s backstory.
He told The Metro: “There’s already been a lot of heated arguments between them [Nick, Toyah and Rowan] and he’s used to people being suspicious of The Institute.
“We are going to learn more about his chequered past. I think he’s such a master-manipulator that he can spin it and still work it in his favour, turning his past into what helped him grow into who he is now.”
We also know he will eventually return to the UK as he’s due to star in a production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
