Coronation Street star Calum Lill has sparked rumours that he could soon depart the soap after landing
a new role.
The star, who plays Joel Deering on the ITV soap, made his debut as the scheming lawyer last year, but
he has landed a new role with a part in Jack & the Beanstalk at the Bournemouth Pavilion.
ITV tends not to allow actors to star in pantomimes while they are contracted to soaps, though Digital Spy understands that Lill was always meant to have a finite stint on the show given his role as a villain.

While Lill’s role on Corrie may be over soon, the star expressed his excitement at joining the production of Jack & the Beanstalk, saying: “I’m really looking forward to my Christmas Boo’s in Bournemouth, when I bring my dastardly Fleshcreep to the stage. Bring it on!”
“We couldn’t be happier to welcome Corrie bad boy Calum to the Bournemouth Pavilion pantomime family this year,” said Martin Dodd, UK Productions Producer and Managing Director. “We can promise you a giant of a pantomime that will leave you full of beans!”
“Last year nearly 30,000 showgoers came to Bournemouth Pavilion’s pantomime, and we hope everyone will join us once more for an unforgettable festive experience,” added Steve Turner, Director of venues for BH Livesaid.
