EASTENDERS fans have been trying to suss out Teddy Mitchell ever since he arrived in Walford, and
some think they’ve worked out who his wife was.
The new addition to the Mitchell family arrived in Albert Square after his dad Stevie suffered an attack
and was left concussed.
After visiting his father in hospital, Teddy discovered he had a long lost half-brother in Billy Mitchell.
He ended up settling down in the London borough with his sons Harry and Barney after being reunited with members of the Mitchell family he didn’t know existed.
But there is still one secret about his family history that has not been exposed.
Teddy has referred to his ex wife a couple of times since he started attempting to court Sharon Watts, but the character has shied away from mentioning her by name.
While out for a drink with Sharon at the Vic, he admitted: “Honestly, me and my ex, we can’t even be in the same room together, let alone run a business.”
When Sharon asked if his wife had treated him badly, he responded: “No the opposite, I loved her to death, but she was toxic for me. I’m telling you, we would just row, proper rows that would go on for hours.”
Viewers have also not been shown any photos of the woman, leaving them suspicious that she might turn out to be an EastEnders legend.
After hearing the news that Chrissie Watts is set to make an explosive return to the soap later this year, a few fans started to believe she is the missing link in Teddy’s story.
One fan predicted: “Theory: suppose Chrissie IS connected to Teddy is like an ex girlfriend/wife as she did have own life before she met Dirty Den in Spain or she’s the mother of one of his sons probably Barney?”
Another thought the same, asking: “Teddy’s ex wife is gonna be Chrissie isn’t it?”

A third suggested one way Chrissie could be reintroduced to Albert Square, saying: “What if Teddys wife is Chrissie Watts and she turns up at his engagement with Sharon?”
Chrissie was last seen on screen 19 years ago when she was sent to prison for the murder of her husband, Den Watts.
She had buried the body of Den under the barrel store floor of The Vic alongside Sam Mitchell and Zoe Slater, and all three agreed to keep quiet about the death.
However, when Sam went on to drunkenly dig the body up, the full story soon unravelled with Sharon Watts being left horrified at Chrissie’s crime.
When asked what she thought about her upcoming epic return to EastEnders, actress Tracy Ann Oberman shared: “Chrissie Watts was such a great character to play – a victim or a villain.
“She is a real fan favourite so, when Chris Clenshaw asked me to come back and re-visit her and see what has happened in the last 19 years, I jumped at the chance.
“The scripts are fantastic and I hope the viewers enjoy her as much as I am enjoying playing her again.”
