Kit Exposes Bernie To Gemma & Paul
Next week, Bernie and Kit plan to tell twins Gemma Winter and Paul Foreman they have a brother. But hold on—Kit throws a wrench in their plans. Actor Jacob Roberts explained that the character’s actions are all an act. Although he genuinely wants a relationship with Gemma and Paul, he only pretends to want to reconcile with Bernie.
However, this is far from his true intentions. In the upcoming episodes, he tells Bernie he will meet her at the pub but leaves her waiting. While Bernie waits at the Rovers, she remains unaware that he is already telling them everything. Jacob revealed that the character aims to share his version of events with Gemma and Paul.
He highlights how their mother abandoned him and how much they missed out due to her actions. The police officer wants to clarify how selfish he believes she is. The actor shared, “He does get some pleasure about doing it behind her back. He wants to hurt her like she hurt him.”
Although Bernie has been eager to build a relationship with her son, it’s clear that Kit wants nothing to do with her. He remains furious, believing she abandoned him twice: once at birth and again at 20 when they arranged to meet and she didn’t show up. Jacob explained that battling these emotions would make it very difficult for Kit to forgive Bernie.
He mentioned that Kit was getting some ‘perverse pleasure’ from building a relationship with his siblings. The soap star noted that it would be interesting to see how long his character would take to realise that the only way to move forward would be to try to forgive his mother.
