Taylor Sheridan’s latest Western series, The Madison, just premiered on Paramount+, and fans are already wondering whether there will be a Season 2. Well, good for fans as the second season is already on its way!
While the show is not related to Yellowstone, there are thematic similarities, especially in its landscape. Set in Montana, the series explores life far from the political and ranching power struggles of the Dutton family. More about grief, survival, and healing, it carries more emotional weight.
If you liked the currently ongoing first season and are looking forward to the next season, here’s all we know about Season 2!
When is The Madison Season 2 Releasing?

While Paramount has not officially confirmed the second season, it has already been shot alongside the first season. As Ben Schnetzer revealed to Woman’s World, filming has already wrapped.
We shot Season 2 already. We just wrapped it not long ago and I’m incredibly excited to share both seasons with an audience. It was a real thrill to be able to come back and revisit these characters and revisit this story, and revisit this beautiful landscape that we filmed in.
As for a release date, there has been no announcement yet about it. The first three episodes of the first season premiered on March 14, and the next batch of three episodes is scheduled for release on March 21.
Given this timing and the usual 6 to 8 months for post-production, we can expect the next season to be released in late 2026 or early 2027.
Who Will Be in the Cast of The Madison Season 2?

The Madison is led by Academy Award-nominated actress Michelle Pfeiffer, who plays the central character. While there have been no official casting announcements for the second season, we expect many of the stars to return.
The potential cast of Season 2 includes:
- Michelle Pfeiffer as Stacy Clyburn, Preston’s widow, Clyburn family matriarch, and mother of Paige and Abigail
- Kurt Russell as Preston Clyburn, Stacy’s husband and patriarch of the family
- Patrick J. Adams as Russell McIntosh, an investment banker and husband of Paige
- Elle Chapman as Paige McIntosh, the New Yorker wife of Russell, an investment banker
- Beau Garrett as Abigail Reese, a New Yorker, Stacy’s daughter, and a divorced mother of two
- Amiah Miller as Brigitte Reese, Abigail’s oldest daughter
- Alaina Pollack as Macy Reese, Abigail’s youngest daughter
- Kevin Zegers as Cade, Stacy’s new neighbor
- Danielle Vasinova as Kestrel Harris, an indigenous woman married to a Montana rancher
- Ben Schnetzer as Van Davis, a Montana rancher
- Rebecca Spence as Liliana Weeks, Stacy’s friend
- Will Arnett as Stacy’s therapist, Dr. Phil Yorn
Unfortunately, Matthew Fox, who starred as Paul Clayburn and Preston’s brother, will not be in the second season. While he did not reveal the reason why he is not in the second season, he remarked to TV Insider:
This is a contained experience for me in the show, and I’m very happy about that. It’s been an incredible experience.
Meanwhile, Kurt Russell revealed in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly that he almost didn’t get cast in the show. The reason was that the schedule conflicted with the second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. But since they really wanted him in the show, the production ended up filming both seasons to accommodate him.
I did the second season of Monarch [Legacy of Monsters], the Apple TV show, and unfortunately for me, the timing was when Madison came around. And I said, ‘There’s just no way to do it,’ because I was working on this show. Michelle Pfeiffer and Taylor were able to get together with the people at Paramount+ and said, ‘Well, let’s do two seasons instead of just one.
And then before we start the second season next year, instead of doing that, we will start with Kurt’s stuff. We really do want him to play the guy. And we’ll get his first season out of the way first, and jam all that in there, and then go into the second season and do that.’ And so we were able to do that.
Well, unlike the sprawling political power dynamics of Yellowstone, The Madison focuses more closely on personal relationships and small community conflicts. This approach is supported by the talented cast, who have shaped the series’ emotional landscape through their layered characters.
What Will The Madison Season 2 Be About?

The show centers on a New York family relocating to Montana after a devastating tragedy. Exploring themes like loss, grief, and adapting to a new life, the second season might follow a similar path. However, since the first season is currently ongoing, it is hard to say where the story will take us in the next season.
During his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kurt Russell revealed that the second season will also have six episodes. Moreover, he praised the show and its direction.
I was very happy about that, because I really like what The Madison is. It’s a smart show. He’s a really good writer — Taylor’s excellent, and Michelle’s great, and she’s really great in this show. Talking about awards — I think they’re going to be looking Michelle’s way.
And I think that it’s a very different show for Taylor in that it’s a very female-gaze-oriented show. And I think it’s extremely well written, it was fun to play. It was really fun to do. I just had a good time.
Well, judging from his comments, we expect the second season to be more female-centric than the first. Moreover, in an interview with ScreenRant, Alaina Pollack teased that season 2 was even better than season 1.
If Season 1 continues to build its audience, Season 2 could expand the series into a deeper exploration of community, identity, and the emotional pull of the American West.
Is There Any Trailer for The Madison Season 2?

Unfortunately, no trailer has been released for Season 2 at the time of writing. Since the second season is still in post-production, it will be quite a while before a trailer is released. Typically, trailers for Paramount+ shows usually arrive one or two months before the premiere. So, we will have to wait for a few months for a trailer.
Where to Stream The Madison Season 2?

Just like the first season, the second season will also stream exclusively on Paramount+. However, fans need an active subscription to stream the show. Plans vary depending on region and include both ad-supported and ad-free options.
