Actress Alice Haig, who portrays Albert Square legend Vicki Fowler, celebrated a year on EastEnders since the character’s explosive return to the show.
Positing on Instagram, Alice shared a gallery of pictures charting her Eastenders journey since March of last year with the caption ‘CANNOT believe it’s been a YEAR since Vicki arrived on the square.
‘What a year she’s had! Such a dream. She loves causing carnage here… and so do I! Best job!’
‘Carnage’ would be a good description of her stories.
The result of a one-night stand between Michelle Fowler (Susan Tully) and Eastenders supervillain Dirty Den Watts (Leslie Grantham), Vicky was known for her manipulative streak and fierce independence… as well as her unfortunately dodgy American accent.
Previously played by actress Scarlett-Alice Johnson, Vicky left the Square in 2004 to pursue a relationship with Spencer Moon (Christopher Parker).
Then in 2025, the headstrong rebel of the Fowler clan made a triumphant return to the Square, with no trace of American accent but with the same old talent for causing trouble.
Last March, Vicki set foot in Walford for the first time in twenty years to attend her Uncle Martin’s funeral – but she was not alone.
After ending things with Spencer, now she was with new partner hard-working family man Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinson), and his son Joel (Max Murray). However, it didn’t take long for cracks to appear in this tight little family unit…
This was largely due to Ross’s son Joel, the incel of Albert Square, whose toxic views about women and ‘the manosphere’, have cause Vicky no end of grief.
She had to pressure Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) for money to pay back the family of a girl Joel sexually assaulted in Australia. This was just the tip of the iceberg. Vicki has been dealing with her stepson Joel’s growing hostility towards women, which resulted in him attacking her in a misogynistic rage and leaving her for dead.

And Vicki Fowler wouldn’t be Vicki Fowler without a nice juicy affair story. Despite being with Ross, Vicki had a fling with Zack Hudson (James Farrar). This led to conflict, with Mark Fowler Jr (Stephen-Aaron Sipple) discovering the secret. Since then, Vicki confessed her infidelity to Ross without actually mentioning who the other man was.
More recently, Vicki was forced to deal with accusations of stealing, while navigating her complicated relationship with Ross and her ongoing connection to Zack.

Fans have been delighted to see Vicki’s return to Walford, and they’re not the only ones. Alice’s colleagues took to Instagram with messages of praise and support.
Max Murray, who portrays her troubled step-son Joel, wrote ‘can’t believe it’s been a year’.
Laura Doddington, who plays Nicola Mitchell shared a heartfelt ‘Love you!!!’, and Emma Barton who plays Honey also posted a warm ‘Love you’.
We love you too, Alice!
