Emmerdale’s Bradley Riches has shared the sad news his beloved Nanny has died just days before his wedding.
Bradley, who is 24, currently plays the role of Lewis Barton in the ITV soap. He is set to wed partner Scott Johnston in a matter of days. The couple got engaged in early 2024, just weeks after Bradley competed in Celebrity Big Brother, in which he placed 6th.
The Heartstopper star took to social media at the time, sharing pictures of himself and Scott inside a heart made out of rose petals, taken in Sorrento, Italy.
‘Erm…YES!,’ he wrote in the caption. ‘I never thought I’d find someone who’s gets me and loves me for me. I have always struggled connecting my emotions in relationships and then @scottjohnston1.8 came.
‘I felt safe and accepted and most importantly loved. I love you endlessly.’

Bradley shared some sad news on his Instagram this week ahead of his wedding. He confirmed in the caption of a moving tribute post that his Gt Nanny has died.
Alongside a picture of a younger Bradley beside his lovely Nan, the star beautifully wrote: ‘Never did I think I would be saying goodbye to my Gt. Nanny just days before my wedding. Before my she passed, she told me she’d be with me on my big day… and I know she will be.
‘She loved Scott so much- never questioned us, just loved us fully. I will miss you every day.’
He concluded: ‘See ya later love you xxx’.
Bradley has been inundated with kind and loving messages from his friends in the industry following the news. Fred Kettle, who plays Dylan Penders, sent Bradley some love heart emojis. Laura Norton aka Kerry Wyatt said: ‘Oh Brad’.

Natalie Ann Jamieson, who left her role as Amy Wyatt in 2025, added: ‘Oh I’m so sorry Brad’.
His followers have also sent him condolence messages, with this Instagram user writing: ‘I’m so sorry to hear this sad news Brad … Sending you love.’
Another added: ‘So sorry Bradley, that’s hard. She will be there, watching over you.’
With the wedding approaching, Bradley recently spoke about who will be attending the service and, given that he is known for his roles in both Heartstopper and Emmerdale – plus his stint on CBB – he’s made quite a lot of famous friends over the years!
‘So obviously we’ve got my new friends from Emmerdale, a couple of them are coming,’ he told The Mail. ‘Heartstopper, some of them. The Big Brother lot.

‘I think all of the Big Brother lot are actually coming. Like David [Potts], Colson [Smith], Nikita [Kuzmin], Sharon [Osbourne], Levi [Roots], Zeze [Millz], Marisha [Wallace], Ekin-Su [Cülcüloğlu], and other people I’ve met along the way, like Arlene Phillips, Tasha [Ghouri] from Love Island.
‘Just lots of people I’ve met through the industry and ones I’ve shared big moments in my career with. It’s going to be really nice.
