Leanne Battersby’s (Jane Danson) behaviour continues to shock Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) in Coronation
Street soon as she reveals some surprising information about Rose’s funeral.
Rose is the stillborn baby girl Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) gave birth to in the early 2000s after she
was raped by a man called Phil Simmonds. After the labour, Toyah spent one night with Rose and then buried her in a park.
A few months ago, Toyah told Nick about her baby after she found a group of people trying to dig near Rose’s grave in search of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
In the most recent development, Toyah was wrongly arrested for the murder of the little tot.
Now Toyah has been released, she is finally given the opportunity to say goodbye to Rose at her funeral.
In this new video, Nick approaches a nervous Toyah and asks if she’s had breakfast to prepare for the event.
Toyah opens up to Nick and says she doesn’t really feel like a mother because she cannot afford a proper burial for her child.
Leanne then enters and reveals to her sister that she is going to pay for a higher-priced funeral for Rose, which means Toyah can give her the send off she wanted.
Toyah is obviously taken aback and wonders how Leanne can afford this. She says the money has come from her savings account – which isn’t true.
After these scenes air, Toyah will discover Leanne didn’t pay for the funeral at all – Rowan (Emryhs Cooper) did.
Back at home, Toyah finds Nick by himself. They talk and eventually, Nick takes Toyah in his arms and they kiss passionately.
However, as this happens, Nick and Toyah remain unaware that from the derelict builder’s yard, a man is watching them intently.
Having enjoyed an afternoon of sex, Nick and Toyah agree that it mustn’t happen again and they should stay out of each other’s way as much as possible.
But will this be the case?
