CORONATION Street star Lucy Fallon has opened up on the “huge struggle” of parenting with her footballer partner Ryan Ledson.
The Bethany Platt actress, 30, and the Huddersfield Town midfielder are parents to Sonny, three, and Nancy who was born last year.

But with her busy filming schedule on the Corrie cobbles and fiance Ryan travelling with football, it can be a challenge to look after their little kids while he’s away.
“It’s hard, because I’ve had a full week of parenting, most times solo, then at the weekend he’s away playing football. He stays away every Friday,” she told the Mirror. “His schedule changes all the time. It’s a huge juggle, but we manage.”
Lucy credited her family with helping out and which takes the pressure off.
“As they say, it takes a village and luckily, we have a village,” she said. “I know we’re privileged — not everybody gets that luxury. My mum and Ryan’s mum help out a lot. We take the help where we can get it.”

But when her and Ryan do manage to be in the same place they have a great relationship and he’s a great dad to their kids.
“If Ryan has made me a big pint of juice with ice in it, that’s really nice,” she explained.
“If I work all day and come home and the kids are in bed, I think, ‘great that you’ve done that’. Because, sometimes, I can come home and Ryan will say, ‘Oh, they’ve waited up for you.’ It will be half past seven, and I’ll think, ‘you’re lying.’ You just wanted me to put them to,” she joked.
Lucy got engaged to Ryan last November and revealed the happy news at her 30th birthday party.

The actress has starred on Corrie since 2015 and while she did briefly quit the ITV soap in 2020, only to return three years later, she has no plans on leaving again any time soon.
“I’ve done that once before, I don’t plan on doing it again,” she said of leaving Corrie. “You get periods of time where you’re not in — I’m not very busy there at the moment, which has been really nice because I get to spend time with Sonny and Nancy, but in a few weeks’ time, I’m going to be busy again.”

Lucy added: “I can be doing 12-hour days, so especially if you are in the midst of a storyline that’s quite intense, it can be exhausting, but I love it and I love the people there.
“It’s an iconic place to work, so I’m very lucky.”
Last month, Lucy had a health scare and had to take Nancy to hospital which she revealed on Instagram.
Alongside a picture of her baby, the soap star wrote: “Radio silence this week from me as Nancy was admitted to hospital on Monday.
“She loves a dramatic illness this chick.”
The TV star did not elaborate on the exact medical issue that arose but reassured fans that Nancy was on the mend.
