Coronation Street star Jude Riordan has been flooded with messages of love and support from his co-stars and followers as he shared news on social media of a heartbreaking ‘goodbye’.

Those who follow the ITV soap best know the young actor for playing Sam Blakeman. He arrived in Weatherfield in 2020 as the son of Nick Tilsley and the late Natasha Blakeman.

And Jude, who is also known for playing Tyler Croft in the Sky Comedy, Brassic, made quite the impact during his debut in Corrie, as he went on to pick up the best newcomer gong at the National Television Awards in 2021, and he has since gone on to be involved in a number of big storylines, including the current grooming plot between Megan Walsh and Will Driscoll.

Away from his role in the long-running show, Jude often shares insights into his life on social media and it was his latest post on Monday (March 9) which brought sad news as he confirmed the death of his beloved dog, Ruby.

Sharing pictures of him growing up with the adorable pooch by his side, the young soap star shared: “I didn’t expect to say goodbye to her. Even though she was at end of life stage it was still a big shock.

“Yesterday we had to say goodbye to Ruby. I held her little face right until the end. Loosing a dog is so painful. She was a sweet girl and we will miss her forever [broken heart emoji]. Beth Nixon, who plays Corrie’s Megan, was quick to send her support, as she commented on the post: “Oh Jude, I can tell she had an amazing life even just from these photos, sending you and your family so much love.” Lauren Bolton actress Cait Fitton also replied: “Sending love Jude.” Jude’s pal, Hope Dobbs star Bella Flanagan shared: “So sorry for your loss darling, hope you’re all okay.”

Her twin, and Corrie’s Joseph Brown actor, Will Flanagan penned: “So sorry for your loss mate hope your okay.” Former on-screen mum, Rachel Leskovac, also posted: “Awww sending love and hugs to you buddy,” while Hollyoaks actress Isabelle Smith added: “so sorry for your loss, sending lots of love.”
