EastEnders‘ Mark Fowler Jr will fear for sister Vicki’s life in dark new scenes on the soap. It comes as Mark faces pressure to route out a rat in the gang – namely Ravi Gulati.
Scenes next week see Mark make it clear to his family that he needs to deal with the informant quickly, with harm potentially coming to Vicki if not.

“Mark’s under a lot of pressure,” actor Stephen Aaron-Sipple noted. “The whole reason he is back in Walford is to figure out who this informant is, and he thinks he knows, but it’s a big step to take without being in full receipt of the facts.
“He’s definitely under the cosh, and therefore he needs to make sure he is making the right decision.”
The star explained that the threat over Vicki is “absolutely” weighing on him, noting: “For a long time, Mark has only really had to look after himself so the fact that Vicki has unwillingly been bought into this situation has been a huge factor into how overwhelming he is finding it all.

“He feels completely out of control of the situation.”

Ravi also looks set to face danger as Mark’s suspicions turn towards him, though Stephen admitted that “deep down” his character “doesn’t want it to be Ravi because Ravi is a family man and he sees a lot of similarities” with himself.
“But, at the end of the day, in Mark’s mind, his family is more important, and Vicki’s safety is more important,” he continued.
“He knows that he is stuck between a rock and a hard place, but Vicki is the most important person to him in this situation. Which means if it is Ravi, he needs to be 100% sure it is because he is going to have to do something that he doesn’t want to do.”

Things will escalate next week as Ravi reveals the truth to Mark, pushing them into a scuffle, while Vicki learns about her brother’s criminal activities.
Priya later finds Ravi, and while tending to his wounds realises the dark truth that he has been self-harming. He later breaks down in her arms as his struggles come to the fore.
