AN EMMERDALE star looked unrecognisable dressed as pop icon as she celebrated her 50th birthday.

Dressing up as iconic singer Cher, this soap starlet looked so different as she sported black leather and a massive black curly wig.

Amy Walsh, who plays the role of Tracy Metcalfe in the soap, was in attendance at her co-star’s birthday bash – but can you guess who it is?

It’s Michelle Hardwick, who plays the role of Vanessa Woodfield in the ITV soap opera.

Celebrating her 50th birthday, Michelle threw a big birthday bash.

With a fancy dress theme, Amy confessed she didn’t get the memo and went in regular clothes.

Meanwhile, other party goers looked incredible as they donned their finest fancy dress attire.

Michelle joined the Emmerdale cast back in 2012 and has been a core member of the show ever since.

She has been a part of many big storylines in the soap, such as her bowel cancer diagnosis, relationship with Charity Dingle, and the kidnapping of her son, Johnny.

Prior to joining the massively popular soap, Michelle featured in The Royal (2003), Emmerdale Farm (1972), and Heartbeat (1992).

But last September, fans were worried her time in the Dales might have been coming to an end.

A photograph of Michelle, was posted by Eye Of Bairns Film‘s Instagram account yesterday, announcing news of her new role.

The account is one of the official channels promoting an upcoming film titled, “Through The Eyes Of Bairns”.

“We’re super excited to reveal the first member of our cast,” the channel’s post began.

“Michelle Hardwick will be playing Rose.

“Rose has always had a strong moral compass but she’s thrown for a loop when her estranged father asks to see her on his death bed.

“Now happily married to her wife, Rose is a million miles from her difficult upbringing. She hasn’t seen her dad in over twenty years and if it was up to her she’d quite happily never see him again.

“Will Rose gets the answers she needs? Will Rose get the apology she desperately wants? And even if she does, will Rose forgive her father?”

Fans of the star as well as followers of the film’s channel were quick to flood the comments with a mixture of congratulatory messages as well as concern about what this means for Michelle’s character on Emmerdale.

“HOLD ON!!!! What about Emmerdale???” asked one person at the time.

Michelle responded to the message, calming down the flurry of fans taking the same tone of concern.

“Alongside it,” Michelle simply stated, followed by a red heart emoji.
