Emmerdale Soap Scoop! Cain and Graham spark suspicion
Emmerdale‘s Laurel Thomas experiences worrying symptoms next week, following a head injury caused when her son Arthur violently lashed out. But will she expose the teenager’s dark behaviour?
Feeling unwell after falling down the stairs in a clash with Arthur, Laurel needs further medical attention after being discharged from hospital. And when Manpreet Sharma starts digging and asking questions about the accident, Arthur begins to panic…
“Laurel is trying her best to cover up her son’s unforgivable behaviour,” our Emmerdale source explains. “Yet Laurel’s loved ones are suspicious and finding holes in her story. And with Arthur lurking, it’s almost like she’s afraid of him.”
Following the showdown with Arthur, Laurel sticks to the story that she blacked out and fell down the stairs.

Even her best friend Nicola King doesn’t know the truth, unaware that Laurel’s son is the reason for her head injury.
While still at the hospital, Nicola wants answers for Laurel’s unexplained blackout, so she heads off to find a doctor and puts Arthur on the spot. Terrified that his cruel actions will be exposed, nervous Arthur awaits his fate…
“Laurel entirely blames herself for Arthur’s attack,” our spy continues. “She’s incredibly guilty for making bad choices with her love life, believing Arthur’s unsettled childhood is her fault. Because of this, she chooses to protect him.”
Returning home, Laurel tries to brush off the accident. But when she suffers waves of dizziness, Gabby is terrified that something more serious is to blame for her collapse.

When Arthur sees the state his mum’s in, he’s crushed by the guilt of having caused it.
Meanwhile, Laurel’s loved ones arrange for a home visit from Manpreet to check her over. But when the doctor arrives, she sends Gabby and Arthur away, immediately suspicious that Laurel is hiding the real story behind her fall…
“Manpreet’s gentle bedside manner is exactly what Laurel needs,” our insider says. “If she’s afraid of Arthur lashing out, it’s time she addressed his recent outbursts, in case he’s ever violent towards her again. But is Laurel planning to expose her son’s true colours?”
Laurel’s determined to see the good in her son, and there’s a part of her that hopes he’ll change back to the sweet-natured boy he once was. But could telling Manpreet risk pushing Arthur further away and destroying their relationship for good?
