EastEnders star Scott Maslen has teased more explosive drama for his character Jack Branning and Ravi Gulati.
Earlier this week, Ravi (played by Aaron Thiara) was on a mission to recover the missing firearm that Oscar Branning (portrayed by Pierre Moullier) had discovered and reported to his uncle Jack.
Ravi took the bold step of breaking into Jack’s house to reclaim the weapon, but he was caught in the act by Denise Fox (Diane Parish).
Upon discovering what happened, Jack confronted Ravi outdoors, leading to a fierce brawl between them.
In the midst of their chaotic face-off, the gun accidentally went off and Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) found herself in the line of fire, reports the Daily Star.
However, the former love rivals soon realised they’d missed their opportunity to turn in the gun, resolving to lay low and conceal the shooter together.
Discussing the tension between Jack and Ravi, Scott revealed: “It’s perfect drama isn’t it really. The stuff with Jack and Ravi is just beginning and it goes everywhere.
“I don’t think in the history of the show they’ve had that link so it’s nice to have someone that is linked to the police. I don’t want to give too much information but it goes to mad places.”
Scott, who has portrayed Jack since 2007, confessed that he’s “very excited” about the soap’s future as Ben Wadey steps in as Executive Producer.
The soap star shared: “It’s exciting and that’s what it’s all about. It’s about nurturing, learning, sharing and telling important stories and we can do that.
“I’m very excited about the future because we’ve got lots of stories that we need to address because the world’s a mess.
“EastEnders is going to be even more key I think moving forward because we’re in desperate times and the right messages are really important.
“Ben [Wadey] has come in and created some brilliant scripts. I’m very excited because we come out of the ashes but we haven’t started flying yet.
“I think EastEnders used to be you liked certain families and you’d go and have a cup of tea when the other ones were on but now it is you go from person to person and you’re watching all of them.”
