EASTENDERS fans have slammed the BBC for a huge spoiler amid Max Branning’s return storyline.
The legendary character finally returned at the end of Wednesday’s episode.

While The Sun on Sunday revealed actor Jake Wood would be reprising his role back in May, many soap fans didn’t know he would be back on screen this week.
However, those who went to watch Wednesday’s episode on iPlayer were left furious when the preview picture relating to the episode showed Max, revealing his surprise return before they’d had chance to watch anything.
Furious EastEnders fans took to the Internet to kick off, with one writing on a Reddit forum: “I watched Wednesday’s episode today – tell me why iPlayer decided the preview image should be Max??
“I had no idea he was coming back this week and it totally spoiled the duff duff.
“I also figured out through the course of the episode that his return would relate to Zoe which I wouldn’t have done otherwise. Annoying and so silly.”
Another replied: “I noticed this today too when clicking to watch today’s episode.
“Although I watched it “live” on the day and taken aback by the Max reveal, I did feel bad it was spoiled for others who hadn’t had a chance to see it yet.”
A third commented: “I agree, even if it had been officially aired they shouldn’t have used Max on any preview stills.
“I watched it when I got back from work about 9pm and avoided social media. Luckily I didn’t see any Max stills.”
It was a dramatic episode even before Max appeared, as fellow returnee Zoe Slater was left fighting for her life after being shot.

She was the victim of an accidental shooting after a fight broke out between Jack Branning and Ravi Gulati.
As Zoe fought for her life in the hospital, mum Kat feared Zoe was running from someone who was determined to harm her.
When Zoe’s phone rang, Kat picked it up, wanting answers.
It was then revealed that Max was the person who has been calling Zoe, as he sat drinking a glass of whiskey.
However, Max didn’t say a thing, leaving Kat unaware he was on the phone, as she feared for her daughter’s safety.
