Viewers soon recognised the actress portraying Deena Becker, the mediator.
Sarah White played Bev Dixon for a decade on Brookside until it was axed in 2003.
Writing online, one fan shared: “The councillor in the scene between Theo and his wife wasn’t she in Brookside? Married to Ron?”
Another penned: “Yes, sure she played Bev didn’t she?”
A third chimed in: “I recognised her straight away. She played Bev McLoughlin.”
While a fourth added: “Brilliant, this was bugging me!
“I knew she was in Brookie and I thought she had something to do with Ron but couldn’t think of her name!!”
The Sun exclusively revealed Corrie had signed up Sarah to play a role in Theo’s storyline.
A source said: “Sarah will be playing a mediator as part of Theo Silverton’s acrimonious divorce from wife Danielle.
“She’s filming now and will be seen on screen later this year.”
Brookside actress, 53, unrecognisable 28 years after controversial incest plot that shocked Britain
Since Brookside, Sarah has appeared in projects including Doctors and critically-acclaimed film God’s Own Country.
It comes as Brookside fans are gearing up for an epic crossover with Hollyoaks.
Last month, it was revealed that the iconic soap, which saw some of it’s stars reunite earlier this year, was being revived for a special episode to commemorate Hollyoaks’ 30th anniversary.
It includes actress Sue Johnston reprising her role as matriarch Sheila Grant.
Meanwhile, John McArdle and Paul Usher are returning as Billy Corkhill and Barry Grant respectively.
John played Billy for five years on the soap before exiting the series in 1990.
While Paul, who has also starred on EastEnders, was part of the original cast from the very first episode in 1982, playing the character of Barry for 13 years.
He later returned for a brief stint in 1997 and again in 1998 before coming back for the show’s final episode in 2003
