John’s Manipulation Takes a Dark Turn
Next week on Emmerdale, John Sugden pushes his sinister plan further by spiking Aaron Dingle’s drink. The villain has already left a trail of devastation, including Mackenzie Boyd’s apparent death, but now he sets his sights on controlling Aaron completely.
Actor Danny Miller, who plays Aaron, explains: “John offers Aaron a whisky which he used to have with his mum. As Aaron wants to appease John, he takes it, not noticing that John doesn’t have a drink. Aaron’s so in love that he doesn’t have a clue what John’s doing.”
Left alone, Aaron decides to pour himself another whisky, not realising it could be laced with something far more dangerous. The setup mirrors John’s role in Nate Robinson’s accidental overdose, leaving viewers fearful of history repeating itself.
Aaron Torn Between Love and Doubt
As the week begins, Aaron shares with Chas that he and John are planning to move away. While the news devastates his mother, John is thrilled, hoping distance will hide his crimes.
But Robert Sugden quickly gets wind of the plan. Furious, he storms in to warn Aaron that leaving with John would be a huge mistake. Their confrontation rekindles old emotions, and Robert even leans in for a kiss.
Danny Miller says: “It’s Robert’s last-ditch attempt to save Aaron from making the biggest mistake of his life. This is his attempt to get Aaron to stay and have that fairytale ending where John goes off, Aaron gets back with Robert, and they live happily ever after.”
Although Aaron rejects Robert’s advance, doubt begins to creep in. John’s strange behaviour, especially his tendency to vanish at suspicious moments, raises red flags. When Charity Dingle considers contacting the police about Mack’s disappearance, John squirms and bolts, leaving Aaron questioning what’s really going on.
Cracks Begin to Show
John senses Aaron slipping away. Determined not to lose him to Robert, he chooses a dangerous tactic when they return to the cottage they plan to call home. Aaron, already lightheaded from the first drink, decides to pour another without John watching.
Danny adds: “Aaron has no idea just how dangerous of a situation he’s in at that cottage with John, because John’s got him all to himself. I don’t think John even knows what he wants to do, but he does know that he doesn’t want to lose the battle for Aaron to Robert.”
The episode sets up a tense showdown. Will Aaron discover what John is up to before it’s too late, or will he become another victim in John’s deadly game?
A New Layer: The Voice Note Mystery
Amid the chaos, Emmerdale has teased an unsettling “voice note mystery” tied to Mackenzie’s disappearance. John has been impersonating Mack, sending messages from his phone to keep Charity in the dark. But with Aaron already questioning John’s actions, could these recordings expose the truth?
Voice notes could provide the smoking gun that finally brings John’s crimes into the open. Or they could deepen the manipulation, keeping Aaron trapped in his toxic marriage.
What’s Next for Aaron?
Aaron stands at a crossroads. On one side, John is tightening his grip, using fear and deception. On the other, Robert is reaching out, hoping their bond is strong enough to save him. The voice notes may hold the key, but will Aaron uncover them before John goes too far?
With Mackenzie gone, Nate dead, and suspicion mounting, the danger is higher than ever. Fans are left wondering: is Aaron the next to fall victim to John’s deadly spiral, or will he break free before tragedy strikes?
