Emmerdale has hit its highest-ever figures for full episodes on YouTube following Mackenzie Boyd and John Sugden’s dark storyline.
The two men’s deadly woodland showdown gripped fans last week – and has paid off for the show’s new streaming home.
Since the end of June, Emmerdale and Coronation Street have both been uploading new episodes on YouTube at 7am, ahead of the ITV1 airings in the evening.

This is in addition to the early releases on ITV’s own streaming platform, ITVX, giving fans even more opportunity to watch full episodes at their own convenience.
The YouTube airings kicked off with around 30,000 views per episode back in June but have picked up popularity over recent weeks, now rising to around 40,000 to 50,000 for most days.

Last Thursday’s episode, which saw John ruthlessly hunt down Mackenzie in the woods, stormed ahead further by pulling in 86,000 views on YouTube – the highest yet.
The following episode, focusing on John’s attempts to throw Mack’s wife Charity off the scent, also did well with 83,000 views.
The option to watch on YouTube has proved popular with many fans, who have praised the easy-to-use and familiar interface – as well as fewer adverts.
