Coronation Street has confirmed a sad funeral story as Asha Alahan’s work struggles continue.
Last night’s episode (25 August) featured a special insight into Asha’s professional life as a student paramedic, with a flashback of a particularly distressing shift.

After Asha suffered a panic attack in the Rovers garden, viewers learnt of the difficult ordeal she had faced earlier that day. As well as dealing with an injured elderly lady and a nasty racist attack, Asha was called out to help with a serious bicycle accident.
Though she managed to revive the young patient and transport him to hospital, Asha was devastated to discover he had later passed away.

Next week’s episodes will see the paramedic continue to struggle, following her recent breakdown. Feeling responsible for the death of the cycle crash victim, Asha decides to attend his funeral.
