It is the end of an era for one cobbles local in Coronation Street next week as they wave goodbye to Weatherfield for good.

Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) is set to move to India to start a new life, and attempts to keep him in the UK fail to convince him to abandon the move.

However, his leaving party isn’t enough of a distraction for Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) who is left suffering a panic attack after a nightmare shift at work, the events of which are set to play out in flashbacks during a special episode at the beginning of the week.

Asha then continues to spiral as the week goes on, and she’s not the only one under pressure.

When Noah arrives back on the street, Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) tries to brush it off, though it is clear things are getting to him when he makes a shocking demand of Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).

Also, Gary Windass (Mikey North) refuses to acknowledge Maria Connor’s (Samia Longchambon) accusations, while Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) has suspicions of her own.

Monday, August 25

Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson)and Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) devise a plan to make Aadi stay in Weatherfield by reuniting him with Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney). Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) agrees to help and it looks as though it might work.

Unfortunately, despite agreeing to remain friends, Aadi admits he is looking forward to his new life in India. Dev hugs him emotionally and Asha hurries out in tears.

In the Rovers’ backyard, Asha struggles to breathe, overwhelmed by a panic attack. As she remains in the throes of her panic attack, she relives all the stress and horror of her last ambulance shift.

In a flashback, viewers will see everything Asha had to deal with on her nightmare shift, including a death, an injured old lady and a racist attack on her.

As Asha sits with her eyes closed, struggling to breathe, Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) approaches and offers words of comfort as a fellow twin. Gemma urges Asha to rejoin Aadi’s leaving party as he’ll be wondering where she’s got to.

Aadi finds Asha sitting on the bench in the backyard and senses that she’s not herself, but when Asha starts to open up about her awful day, Dev arrives and she clams up. As Asha heads back into the pub, Aadi’s left concerned and offers to stay if she wants, but she brushes her problems off as tiredness.

Asha records a voice note for Aadi telling him how much she’s going to miss him, how she doesn’t think she’ll cope and begging him not to go. As her finger hovers over ‘send’, she breaks down in tears. Will she send it?

When Dev catches Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) and Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) stealing people’s drinks, he throws them out of the pub. As Brody and Dylan scarper, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) wonders what’s going on. Dev explains how Brody ruined Aadi’s house party by turning up with drugs and now he’s tried to ruin Aadi’s leaving party.

Tim and Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) tell Brody that social services called and Joanie is going to stay with her Aunt for the time being. Sally and Tim discuss Brody and how he needs their support more than ever.

At No.13, Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) is taken aback when Abi Webster (Sally Carman) suggests they start a new life in Germany. Abi finds Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) in the café and explains that she never meant to fall for Carl, it just happened. Plus, the last thing she wants to do is hurt Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell).

Theo hides his annoyance when Gemma reveals that she’s hosting birthday drinks in memory of her brother Paul Foreman, and Todd will be there with Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).

Todd returns home to find Theo cooking a curry and when Todd reveals he is going out to the pub, Theo emotionally blackmails him to stay in, saying he is worried about his kids.

Wednesday, August 27

A downbeat Asha struggles with her day knowing her brother is about to leave for a new life thousands of miles away. Having said her goodbyes, she heads out on her shift with Sienna.

Things take a sinister turn when she is called to a car accident and, as she arrives, she recognises the car as Aadi’s. What has happened?

In the bistro, a devastated Asha loses her temper and screams at Brody for arguing with another customer. Sienna does her best to calm her down but tells her that her behaviour is unacceptable and that if she does it again, she will have to report her.

Having tried but failed to open up to Dev about how she is feeling, a drunken Asha is eventually rescued by a sympathetic Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) in the Rovers. Asha finally unburdens herself and tells Lisa about the woman she tried to help who verbally abused and then assaulted her. Lisa urges her to report the incident to her manager.

Theo is shocked to bump into Noah on the street sporting a black eye. Theo thanks Gary, Maria and Billy for their support but insists that there’s nothing that can be done about Noah as he doesn’t want to scupper his access to his kids.

Later, Todd and Billy are appalled to see Noah and Miles handing out leaflets on the street. Billy tries to reason with Miles. Can he get through him?

Carl is frustrated when Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) won’t give him any shifts at the garage. However, Tyrone later admits to Carl that with Kevin away, he could do with his help at the garage.

As Carl passes Victoria Garden, he watches two lads threatening Brody and demanding payment for stealing a car. Carl sends them packing while Brody’s left shaken.

Jenny is concerned that George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) is being too trusting with the ladies he meets online. Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) tries to reassure her, but they are both shocked when Christina Midgeley (Amy Robbins) arrives at the pub looking for George.

Christina reveals that Dom has died and her meeting with George is purely of a professional nature, but Jenny moans to Glenda and Brian Packham (Peter Gunn), convinced that Christina has set her sights on George and is up to no good.

Over a drink, Maria quizzes Gary about the attack on Noah, convinced he was responsible. Gary refuses to be drawn and suggests they drop the subject.

Friday, August 29

Abi prepares to leave for Mallorca and assures Carl she won’t be sleeping with Kevin. Meanwhile, Tracy tries to wind her up by telling her she and Carl kissed at the hotel.

Later, in the pub, Tracy makes it clear to Carl that she would like to have sex with him. With her phone on record, Tracy knocks on Carl’s hotel room door and suggests they spend the afternoon in bed together. Will he agree?

Meanwhile, at the garage, Tyrone has agreed to check Ollie’s car. He explains to Carl that Ollie is facing dangerous driving charges, but claims it was his brakes that failed.

Carl realises the MOT certificate is from a garage Fiona uses. He tells Brody that from now on they’ll cut out the middlemen and steal the cars themselves.

Billy approaches Miles and warns him that he’s being brainwashed by some bad people and he needs to stop lashing out those who genuinely care about him. He is shocked when Miles turns up at Summer Spellman’s (Harriet Bibby) party with Todd and Theo.

Later, Theo asserts that he doesn’t want Todd seeing Billy anymore and he has to choose between them, leaving Todd reeling. Who will he choose?

At No.7, a hungover Asha tells Dev she’s called in sick with a headache. When Dev suggests she’s skiving, Asha snaps at him. She struggles to appear enthusiastic about Summer’s birthday plans. Sienna finds Asha in the Rovers and quizzes her about the fact she called in sick. Asha admits she lied.
