Coronation Street fans have ‘worked out’ the new owner of kebab shop Prima Doner and it’s a returning soap legend.
The iconic business has been a staple on the soap since 2008 after being set up by Jerry Morton (Michael Starke). Legend Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) then bought the place.
Over the years, several familiar faces have taken up a job there, including Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) and Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott).
Currently, Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) works as an assistant, with Dev’s wife Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) also helping out there too.
As a result, Aadi orchestrated a fake robbery as part of an insurance scam to pay the debts off, but this backfired as the insurance wouldn’t pay out because he had missed a previous payment.
Dev eventually found out the truth, leaving him livid. And in Wednesday’s episode (August 13) Dev revealed that he was planning to sell his other business, a chippy, due to his money issues.
But now, with things not looking good for Dev, fans reckon he’ll be forced to sell the kebab shop Prima Doner as well – and viewers ‘know’ exactly who will become its new owner.
“Dev’s losing his empire,” said one person on a Corrie Facebook fan page. Someone else then suggested Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) could take over the kebab shop, following the news of her return.
They mused: “I think Eva will come back loaded with cash and buy the Rovers and Prima Doner!” A third chimed in: “I would love this!” Echoing their thoughts, another wrote: “Yeah maybe her new boyfriend is minted.”
Eva’s return to Coronation Street was announced last month – and she’s not alone. Joining Eva are her partner Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) and his interfering mother Maggie (Pauline McLynn).
