There’s a new chapter on the horizon for EastEnders’ Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) next week, when she makes a huge career decision.

Since leaving her job at the Minute Mart a few years back, Honey has been keeping all the local traders in check as Walford’s market inspector.

Known for her no-nonsense approach, coupled with her frequent malapropisms, her job has helped cement Honey as a favourite among fans of the BBC soap.

But forthcoming scenes will see Honey set her eyes on the top job when Mr Lister’s (Nick Wilton) job as head market inspector becomes available.

Lister announced his plans to retire as head market inspector back in November, as the threat of closure loomed over the Bridge Street and Turpin Road market.

However, the late Martin Fowler (James Bye) convinced him to stay in post and help fight for the market’s future, with him eventually conceding.

With the market having since been saved, spoilers for next week’s episode suggest that Lister has finally hung up his clipboard.

Honey excitedly puts her application together for the gig on Monday, and later in the week she gets a surprise update. Has she bagged the job?

She’s not the only one with job news in Albert Square next week, however.

Spoilers also tease that Walford East chef Zack Hudson (James Farrar) also receives some – but whether it is good or bad news remains to be seen…

It’s been a turbulent few months for Zack, who, after finding out that Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman) is his son, was violently attacked by his mum Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) and nearly killed in a car accident after being kidnapped by Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway).

Surely it’s about time he caught a break?!
