Coronation Street has revealed Brody Michaelis as the mystery troublemaker who derails Dev Alahan and Bernie Winter’s wedding.
The ITV soap kept fans guessing last week by releasing dramatic spoiler pictures, showing Bernie facing off against a burglar on her big day.
Wednesday’s episode has now put viewers in the picture, confirming that Brody is back to making poor choices amid the current uncertainty surrounding the future of his younger sisters.
The drama plays out as Bernie nips back to the Alahan house shortly before her wedding is due to take place, wanting to find her lucky charm locket which contains a photo of her late son Paul Foreman.
When Bernie arrives, she disturbs a burglar and boldly goes on the attack, pulling off their balaclava.
Bernie is stunned to see that the intruder is her grandson Brody, who’s feeling desperate after learning that his younger sisters could soon be separated.
“My mate lives in Alicante and I just thought, if I could get enough money, me and the girls… we could move out there,” Brody explains.
Bernie wisely warns that there’ll be a “manhunt” if Brody takes the girls away on a plane without permission. Tim and Sally Metcalfe are currently looking after the youngest Michaelis siblings now that their parents Mick and Lou are both in prison.
“Tim and Sally found some bruises on Shanice’s arm,” Brody adds. “They think it was Joanie.
“They can’t separate us – they need me.”
Bernie continues her efforts to talk Brody round, but will her words sink in? And how long before her absence at the wedding ceremony sparks suspicion?
Later, after Bernie mysteriously collapses due to allergies after walking down the aisle, tempers run high as Dev’s son Aadi questions why Brody delayed her arrival at the venue.
The scenes threaten to spark a new round of animosity in the ongoing feud between Aadi and Brody, with Aadi’s exit from the show just around the corner…
