After joining forces against their ex-husband George, EastEnders‘ Cindy Beale and Elaine Knight are set to find out he’s seeing someone new.

In an episode airing next week, Cindy and Elaine will catch wind of George’s affair with a new woman. The duo will be shocked to learn their mutual ex’s new lover is none other than Nicola Mitchell.

Previously, George and Nicola had a passionate encounter in her office after a fake job interview.

The pair hasn’t been the most discreet ever since they started sleeping together. Last week, they were caught half-dressed by Nicola’s son Harry and George’s son Junior.

It appears that more Walford residents will be privy to their little, not-so-secret romance next week. As both Cindy and Elaine were married to George, the discovery is guaranteed to ruffle some feathers.

“It seems that George was the sole reason for Cindy and Elaine’s feud,” our insider said, “as now he’s out of both of their lives, the pair have cautiously agreed a truce and have even gone into business together.”

“But how will they react when they find out that George has moved on and is now seeing Nicola? Things could get nasty…”

Recently, the two women have set their differences aside after Elaine had to give up the Queen Vic.

Cindy has asked Elaine to be the co-manager of her queer bar, The Albert, after Elaine stepped in and helped her during a particularly stressful Wimbledon event.

As a new friendship is born, will the two also reconcile with George?

Meanwhile, Elaine will have worse things on her hands when she and Kojo Asare are attacked by a gang of violent thugs next week.
