Although Sister Wives wrapped up Season 19, the drama is far from over. A recent Instagram confession has thrown a wrench into the storyline presented back in Season 1, further unraveling some of the long-standing myths the show has portrayed over the years.

Christine Brown Wooley, who was Kody Brown‘s third spiritual wife, confessed her feelings regarding the moment in a new Instagram reel. She was seen in a recording booth laying down the audio for her new book Sister Wife: A Memoir of Faith, Family, and Finding Freedom.

She read an excerpt from her book, recounting a scene from Season 1 when she was in labor with her daughter Truely Brown. Instead of rushing to the hospital to be by his wife’s side, Kody had other priorities.

“The camera crew followed Kody that day, too,” Christine explained. “He rushed home to Robyn [Brown].”

“He needed to check in, I don’t know, the kids? Her feelings about my labor?” she continued. Christine then looked at the camera, raised her eyebrows, and smiled what appeared to be a knowing smile.

The event occurred during the fourth episode of the first season of Sister Wives titled “Third Wife in Labor.” The timing of Kody’s visit to Robyn, especially during Christine’s labor, was a point of contention and criticism from viewers.

What struck a chord with Sister Wives fans was the couple’s attempt to hide their pre-marriage kiss from the cameras. As Kody left to return to Christine, who was in active labor at the hospital, Robyn tried to discreetly shut the door behind them, but not fast enough to stop the cameras from catching their kiss.

This moment was walked back by Robyn during the Season 19 One-on-One episodes, where she negated any claims the couple conducted themselves improperly before marriage.

“Oh, no, no, no, nothing. Little church kisses. Something you can do in front of your pastor, your Bishop or something,” Robyn claimed.

She continued that the couple didn’t kiss until they were engaged, but the exchange was more like a “smash.” Robyn told the cameras, “His face smashed mine. That was it, you know, it wasn’t anything super sexy.”

However, Christine gave birth to her and Kody’s sixth child before Robyn married into the family. The infant was featured in the couple’s wedding photos shortly thereafter.

Sister Wives is currently on hiatus. Christine Brown Wooley’s book will be released on Sept. 2, 2025.
