Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) finally seem to be in a good place with their relationship in Coronation Street, with the couple planning to look for a home together.

It’s been a difficult road for Theo as he’s had to balance falling in love with Todd with the fact that he’s really struggled with his sexuality. Having been put through conversion therapy when he was younger and been brought up in a homophobic environment, it’s taken a lot for Theo to openly acknowledge that he is gay.

Todd was also shocked when he discovered that Theo was married and had two children. His daughter Millie (Kaitlyn Earley) has proven to be quite manipulative when it comes to her dad and Todd has had to tread very carefully when dealing with her to avoid upsetting Theo.

Added to all this, Noah (Richard Winsor), a man who was involved in the conversion therapy and who is a friend of Billy (Daniel Brocklebank)’s, has recently appeared in Weatherfield.

He even disturbed Theo when he was having a meal in the bistro with Todd, handing him a leaflet about a meeting the next day and saying he needed to attend to ‘save his soul.’

Todd was fuming when he discovered this and headed to the meeting with Billy. Even though Theo wasn’t there, Todd and Noah ended up in an altercation and Todd send Noah flying – an incident that was captured on someone’s phone.  Noah vowed that he was going to ‘save’ Theo and return him to Jesus Christ.

In upcoming episodes Todd is taken to the police station for questioning after Noah reports him for assault. He’s ordered to attend a restorative justice session with Noah, who spends the entire session trying to goad Todd and get a reaction from him.

After the session Todd rushes to get out and forgets his jacket. As he goes back for it he overhears Noah on the phone, and Todd’s shocked to hear that he’s talking to Danielle (Natalie Anderson), Theo’s wife – and that they’re clearly a couple.

When Danielle joins Theo and their kids at the bistro, Todd reveals that Danielle has a new boyfriend – and it’s the vile Noah.

Theo is shocked, and his son Miles reacts by trying to throw a punch at Todd. Theo tries to intervene and accidentally ends up hitting Miles himself, sending the boy sprawling to the ground.

In the wake of this, Danielle bans Theo from seeing his kids, and a mortified Theo makes Todd sleep on the sofa.

Todd knows how much Theo’s children mean to him. With Noah now having so much influence over Danielle, clearly he’s going to manipulate the situation to his advantage and Theo and Todd’s relationship will be put under incredible strain yet again.
