Coronation Street star Natalie Anderson has confirmed a “nasty” future ahead for the dramatic divorce storyline.
Theo Silverton is set to be left devastated next week after learning about ex-wife Danielle’s relationship with Noah Hedley – who previously practised conversion therapy on him.
Noah returned to the cobbles this week, and got into an altercation with Todd Grimshaw after the latter learnt that he was once again undertaking conversion therapy.
Next week’s scenes will see Todd stumble on the truth about Noah’s secret relationship with Danielle, revealing all at a gathering of the Silvertons at the Bistro.
Theo is left horrified, and amid a bust up, accidentally injures son Miles, leading Danielle to declare he can no longer see his children.
Opening up about future tensions, Danielle actor Natalie teased that things will “get messier and more heated” for the family.

“We fall into two camps between Danielle and Theo, and the children will be caught in the middle of that,” she explained, noting it is “difficult” and “representative of a lot of families going through messy divorces”.
“There’s a lot of figuring out what’s next and figuring out what’s best for the children,” the star added. “When it starts to become a legal thing, how nasty does that get?
“It’s one thing trying to sort it out between yourselves, but when it gets to that next level things becomes more weaponised.”
She further revealed that there will be “calculating things coming up”, and admitted she is “not sure the audience will still be on Danielle’s side after that”.

Natalie also shared that audiences have given her character “a lot of sympathy”, especially as she has “played that confrontational side to her”.
“Her emotions are everywhere and I didn’t want to shy away from that and make her Little Miss Perfect,” she added. “She’s not immediately likeable, however the reaction I’ve had is people completely understand her position, and think the villain of the piece is Theo.
“The viewers love Todd and want him to find love, they’re really angry at Theo for going down this path knowing he had a wife and children.”
