Coronation Street fans reckon they’ve figured out who will murder Billy Mayhew, following recent whispers that the character is set for a dramatic exit.
Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) first graced the cobbles in 2014 and has since become a beloved character. He’s been at the centre of numerous gripping storylines, from murder to drug addiction.
In addition to his intense storylines, Billy has had several romantic entanglements on the soap, including Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and his husband Paul Foreman (Peter Ash).
However, Billy was left devastated last year after the death of his husband Paul, following his struggle with MND (motor neurone disease).

Moreover, this year – much to the surprise of fans – it was announced that Daniel will be departing Coronation Street in a thrilling storyline set to unfold on screen, reports Leicestershire Live.
This week, reports surfaced that Daniel’s character is destined to meet a dramatic end in ‘explosive’ scenes. An insider told The Sun: “Corrie bosses are busy plotting how to kill off Billy, having decided to axe Daniel earlier this year.
“There aren’t any plans to bring him back onto the soap so it makes sense to make his exit the most impactful and explosive it can be.”
They added: “It’s likely Billy will be a focus point of the Christmas/New Year storylines, with fans expected to be at the edge of their seats in the run-up.”
A Coronation Street spokesperson stated they do not comment on storyline speculation.
However, fans are now convinced they’ve identified Billy’s killer – and it’s someone within his inner circle. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, viewers speculated that Theo Silverton, portrayed by James Cartwright, might be the one to commit the murder.
Theo arrived on the cobbles this year as Todd Grimshaw’s (Gareth Pierce) new romantic partner. In heartfelt conversations with Todd, Theo revealed that his deeply religious parents had forced him through conversion therapy during his youth in an attempt to alter his sexuality.
Whilst Theo has clearly been grappling with his fresh relationship, he’s also displayed a menacing and sinister streak, which has alarmed viewers. Now, with speculation surrounding Billy’s potential demise, fans believe Theo will be instrumental in his death.
“Theo is def going to kill Billy off isn’t it? I have a feeling,” remarked one viewer. Another commented: “It wouldn’t surprise me, he has a dark side for sure.” A third then agreed: “I thought this as well especially as Billy is leaving!”
