A police arrest has been made on the set of EastEnders, following an alleged incident.
According to The Sun, filming on the soap came to a halt on 7 May, when a woman complained that a fellow extra had tried to forcibly kiss her.
The man, who was in his 50s, was apprehended by security, leading to a scuffle on set. The police later arrived at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire and arrested the suspect.
“We can confirm we did receive a report of an incident that took place in Eldon Avenue, Borehamwood on Wednesday May 7,” Hertfordshire Police said in a statement to The Sun.
“The suspect, a man aged in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of common assault and sexual assault in relation to two victims. He is on police bail whilst enquiries continue.”

The alleged incident took place near EastEnders‘ landmark pub, The Queen Vic. Some of the show’s actors were shocked as they looked on, including long-serving actor Adam Woodyatt, who plays shrewd businessman Ian Beale.
Filming was reportedly stopped so that the incident could be dealt with by security and senior production members.

During the lengthy break, the woman was taken care of by EastEnders staff. Other members of the cast and crew were also reportedly shaken up by the alleged incident.
A spokesperson for the show told Digital Spy: “While we would never comment on individuals, EastEnders has on-site security and well-established procedures in place to safeguard the safety and welfare of everyone who works on the show.”
