Soap star Sarah White, known for the role of fan-favourite Bev Dixon in the now-defunct Channel 4 series, has joined the cast of Corrie for a short stint on the cobbles (via The Sun).
Digital Spy understands that White will only appear in one episode airing later this year. She will play a mediator in the nasty divorce proceedings between Theo Silverton and his wife Danielle.
Following her Brookside role, White also appeared on Doctors and in queer romance movies God’s Own Country and Ammonite.

Elsewhere on Corrie, the soap has finally answered the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Gary Windass.
In an episode streaming on ITVX and airing on ITV1 today, the series revealed who’s behind the attack on Gary. The assault landed him in a coma, with his wife Maria Connor having no clue as to where he is and fearing he’s walked out on their family.
Coronation Street solved the puzzle, confirming that Lou Michaelis hit Gary on the head with an iron bar during a fight.

Lou has been keeping watch on Gary in the hospital and lying about their identities by telling doctors and nurses that she is ‘Gemma’ and he is ‘Chesney’.
As Gary is set to wake up from his coma in upcoming scenes, it seems that Lou’s time on the cobbles will soon come to an end. Lou star Farrel Hegarty previously confirmed she’d be leaving Corrie in scenes airing this summer.
