In the Thursday, July 10 episode of Days of Our Lives, EJ smugly acted like he had the perfect way to remove the cloak of suspicion from Johnny. In his conversation with Tony, he insisted that Johnny’s innocence would soon be apparent. After all, he delivered the memory card for a reason.
Protect Johnny At All Costs — Even His Marriage
Yikes, the memory card from the spy cam Rafe (Galen Gering) planted instantly provided another suspect in the Who Shot EJ saga. At least that’s what EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) hopes it will do. But he will need to take up prayer, asking for help so that nobody finds out who delivered that incendiary footage. He better pray that his actions as Johnny’s lawyer and alleged victim don’t come back to haunt him.
Jada (Elia Cantu) and Belle (Martha Madison) called Paulina (Jackée Harry) and showed her the video evidence. And you know that Pauliina immediately wished she could unsee the footage of Chanel’s credible threat. She told EJ she wouldn’t let him live long enough to hurt her husband or anybody she knew ever again.
But here’s the thing. A threat was all that was on that footage. Sure, it might provide yet another suspect that could help deflect the attention from Johnny (Carson Boatman). But she isn’t holding a gun. She isn’t on there shooting anyone. So, for now, this is simply a tool to remove some of the suspicion from Johnny. 
It was always clear that EJ didn’t appreciate Chanel (Raven Bowens) calling him out on his you-know-what. And that with her around, he may not get to have the relationship with his son that he wants. So he’s killing two birds with one stone here. Secretly providing the cops with another suspect, and potentially causing damage to Johnny and Chanel’s marriage.
Did you hear how, after Tony (Thaao Penghlis) added Johnny and Chanel’s eventual children to the conversation that EJ, under his breath, said something about if they ever get there. We now know what he meant by that. EJ DiMera is one cold dude.
