EastEnders legend Samantha Womack has revealed the warnings she received about her real-life partner, Emmerdale star Oliver Farnworth.
Sam and Oliver began dating in 2019, having worked together on the UK tour of The Girl on the Train.
Prior to that, Sam starred as the iconic Ronnie Mitchell in the BBC soap, until the character was tragically killed off in dramatic scenes on January 1, 2017.
Now, Oliver is playing sinister killer John Sugden in the ITV soap, who has been embroiled in some massive storylines during his time on the show.
This year alone, John has buried the body of Anthony Fox and been revealed as Nate Robinson’s killer, after his body was discovered in a nearby lake.
With her real-life partner playing a villain on TV, Sam is often given warnings about Oliver’s character by fans who bump into her.

‘I do get warned about him,’ she told The Sun.
‘But Oli is actually so strict about confidentiality. So he comes back every few days, and he won’t tell me what’s happening with anything.
‘He’s like “I just can’t let you know,” and I’ll say “come on, I’m not going to tell anybody!”
‘But I really think this is one of his favourite jobs to date.’
Having spent almost ten years on a soap set herself, Sam revealed how different the Emmerdale village is to Albert Square.
‘I visited the set and it’s beautiful. They have rolling hills and cute cottages. It’s very different to EastEnders.

‘And what is funny is he gets a lot of attention when he goes up north, but when we go down south everyone knows me from EastEnders so it changes where we go.’
Before taking on the role of John, Oliver also starred in rival ITV soap Coronation Street, as the ill-fated Andy Carver.
Viewers believed Andy had been murdered by serial killer Pat Phelan, but got a huge shock months later when it was revealed that Phelan had been holding him hostage in a basement.
