If there’s one thing Days of Our Lives big summer preview showed us, it’s that Holly is surrounded by threats. First there’s Sophia, who, now that’s she had and given up the baby, looks to be back to playing dirty to come between Holly and Tate. We guess she’s as desperate as ever now that the teens have officially reunited and she doesn’t have the pregnancy to keep Tate coming back.
But we also got a glimpse of someone kidnapping Holly and Ari; someone in a ski mask, with a gun. That particular mess had us scratching our heads until the Wednesday, July 2nd episode, when the guy Doug owes money to flat out threatened Holly, her family, and everyone Doug’s friends with in town.
Admittedly, that last list is fairly short, but thanks to his and Ari’s fling, Gabi’s daughter is on it. And it’s now become pretty clear, that Holly and Arianna are about to end up as collateral damage in Doug’s debt drama.
That’s scary enough, but even if Holly and Ari come out of it without a scratch, there’s still another, less conventional threat to her: going to college in Paris. We also learned on Wednesday that she got into school there, and is considering going to be near Eric and Nicole to try to help during their relationship struggles. As Maggie very wisely pointed out, the only people who can repair a relationship are the ones in it — but that doesn’t mean Holly will listen.
As of right now, she’s back with Tate and enrolled in Salem U. Those are two very good reasons to stay. But Sophia’s baby hasn’t vanished. He just ended up in Javi and Leo’s care. That almost certainly means that eventually, the truth of his identity will come out, and that’s sure to turn Tate and Holly’s relationship upside down.
Add to that the trauma of Holly’s kidnapping, and she may, in the end, decide to do what her mom did, and put Salem and all its drama behind her. Granted, that didn’t work particularly well for Nicole… But you never know with Holly!
