Still frantic with worry over Gary’s disappearance, Maria heads to the police station and reports him as a missing person.

Kit explains that the hospital have been in touch over an unidentified coma patient, so Lisa points out that it could be Gary.

Nina overhears Maria telling Sarah that Gary stopped making bank transactions on 23 June.

Rushing straight to Summer, nervous Nina warns that this matches up with the night they were high on drugs and suspected that they’d attacked someone.

Summer is sceptical, pointing out that no reports of an assault were ever made, but is Nina on the right track?

At the hospital, Gary receives a female visitor and the nurse assures her that ‘Chesney’ is making improvements. It seems that the lady in question is hiding Gary’s true identity in front of the hospital team.

Kit informs Maria that the hospital patient wasn’t Gary – although this mix-up seems to tie in with the confusion over his identity.

All becomes clear when a series of flashbacks reveal what happened on the night that Gary was attacked.

As Gary remains in hospital, his attacker tries to cover their tracks.

Kevin tells Carl that he received the all-clear at the hospital. When Carl mentions this to Abi, she insists that Kevin needs another round of chemotherapy.

With confusion spreading over Kevin’s conflicting claims, he soon clashes with Carl.

Abi assumes that Kevin is lying to the rest of his family to spare them any further worry over his health. She urges him to tell everyone what’s really going on.

Caught up in a complicated web of his own making, Kevin reluctantly tells Debbie and Tyrone that he still has cancer.

Kevin struggles to continue the pretence and soon informs Tyrone that he’s been lying.

How will Tyrone react when Kevin confirms that the cancer is gone and he’s been stringing everyone along for his own reasons?

Dee-Dee collects Laila from James, who’s unaware that she’s planning to have her christened that day.

Later, Dee-Dee openly celebrates with Laila’s new godparents Alya and Adam – alongside Billy, who conducted the service. Will James find out that Dee-Dee went behind his back?

At The Rovers, a man called Ollie introduces himself to Dee-Dee and tries to chat her up.

The pair have a drink together, but get interrupted when James arrives to inform Dee-Dee that he’s been speaking to the adoption team to solidify their plans for Laila’s future.

Carla points out the benefits of therapy and suggests that it could help Lisa after her tough few months. Although sceptical, Lisa agrees to give it a try.

During the first session, the therapist suggests that Lisa should talk about her late wife Becky. Lisa is immediately thrown, unsure about whether to open up.

Aadi continues to fuss around Lauren, still feeling guilty over the recent drugs incident. He offers to help Lauren move into her new flat and even presents her with an air fryer as a gift.

Lauren is sceptical over Aadi’s motives and rejects his efforts. Is she starting to realise that Aadi has a guilty conscience?
