Kody and Robyn Brown always thought they had the perfect marriage, but is there trouble in paradise?

The Sister Wives Season 18 premiere kicks off this weekend. To drum up interest in the new season, several members of the Brown family are speaking to the press. Surprisingly, even Robyn ended up speaking out about the state of her marriage to Kody.

After 17 seasons of telling the camera about her happy marriage, it seems like Kody and Robyn Brown might be on the rocks. See what the fourth wife had to say in her latest interview.

Robyn Brown makes a shocking confession

Kody Brown seemed completely smitten with Robyn when she stepped on the scene back in Season 1. Over the years, they were often off in their own little world, leaving the rest of the family feeling neglected.

But ahead of Season 18, Robyn admits that their marriage is anything but perfect. It seems the breakups with the other three wives are really driving a wedge between the pair.

“No one should be married while they’re going through a divorce,” Robyn recently told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. “It’s been hell. There have been times he’s tried to self-sabotage and sabotage us. I’ve had to work hard not to let him.”

The TLC star went on to say that she feels like the family failed with their mission. They all wanted a polygamous family unit and watched it crumble before their eyes.

Some fans have started speculating that Robyn and Kody’s marriage might be over soon too. However, Robyn told PEOPLE that she’s dedicated to making it work with Kody. She’s been seeing a therapist to talk about the problems.

“I never thought I wanted to leave. I know how much I love Kody,” she told the publication. “He’s doing his best.”

Kody Brown thinks very differently about polygamy now

Although Kody Brown was a staunch polygamist in Season 1, his views are very different now. The family patriarch also gave an interview ahead of the Season 18 premiere and he had surprising things to say as well.

“The idea of ever marrying again after the experience I’ve had, there’s no reason for me to do that,” Kody also told PEOPLE, declaring that he’s putting polygamy behind him. “I feel like I’ve hit the bottom of a deep swimming pool, but I’ve pushed off and am headed to the surface.”

However, not every Sister Wives fan is convinced that Kody has closed the door on polygamy. Time will ultimately tell what will happen with the family.
