Coronation Street star Vicky Myers looked unrecognisable compared to her character DS Lisa Swain as she posted a nostalgic throwback photo on Wednesday.
The actress, 49, who has been portraying DS Swain since 2021, took to Instagram to honour her father’s birthday with the heartfelt caption: “Happy Birthday Poppa Bear #Quinny.”
In the photograph, Vicky appeared distinctly different from her screen persona DS Swain, showcasing longer locks swept up into a messy bun and sans her character’s distinctive side fringe.
The nostalgic post mirrors one from 2022 when Vicky celebrated her dad’s special day, penning: “Happy Birthday Pops aka Quinny, Jed Clampett or Pep. Have a wonderful birthday. Love from, Your favourite middle child.”
Reacting to the sweet tribute, Vicky’s co-star Sally Carman-Duttine, known for her role as Abi Webster, chimed in with: “Happy Birthday Pep!” along with celebratory birthday-themed emojis, reportsΒ Belfast Live.
Meanwhile, Vicky’s alter ego Lisa has been facing turbulent times on the streets of Weatherfield. Earlier this week, she was placed on restrictive duties at the station following her arrest of Brody Michaelis.
Lisa, already struggling after the murder of fellow officer PC Craig Tinker, made the arrest when Brody Michaelis β son of Craig’s killer Mick β disrupted the peace in the cafeΜ harassing Daniel Osbourne.
At the police station, drama unfolded as Brody was asked to turn out his pockets, revealing a mysterious bottle of white pills which he wouldn’t explain to Lisa. In a twist of fate, alone in his cell, Brody urgently cried out for his medication just as Lisa walked away, leading him to experience a terrifying epileptic fit.
The incident led to Lisa being assigned restricted duties at work. However, on Wednesday night β in scenes you can catch early on ITV X β Carla Connor convinced her to let loose at the Rovers’ drag night.
Following an evening of fun, Lisa opened up about deciding to seek therapy, still haunted by the loss of Craig and her late wife Becky, who tragically died while on duty in 2021. Her bravery in facing her grief left Carla quite moved.
Carla and Lisa have faced a rollercoaster romance since November, tackling hostage scares, kidney surgery, and the usual share of soap drama.
In a heartfelt moment, the couple recently shared with Betsy, Lisa’s daughter, their plans to buy a place together, optimistically asking for her blessing. Lisa pondered over their living situation with Carla, gently suggesting a move: “I mean, we’re fine here, but it’s a bit cramped isn’t it? Unless you’ve got any objections obviously…”
Betsy was over the moon, exclaiming: “No, I think it’s a great idea!” Carla then proceeded to show her potential new homes online, pointing out which room could be Betsy’s. Earlier in the week, Carla had her eye on No.6, once Yasmeen Nazir’s place, as the family seeks a new beginning.
