Emmerdale fans believe they’ve “uncovered” Kerry Wyatt’s revenge plot against Eric Pollard, and it doesn’t end well.

Actress Laura Norton joined the ITV soap as Kerry in 2012, where she was introduced as the estranged mother of Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson).

Amy was notably fostered by Eric (Chris Chittell) and his late wife, Val (Charlie Hardwick), during her teenage years. She tragically died alongside Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) in the devastating limo crash back in February.

Over the years, Kerry and Eric have developed a close bond, with the pair currently living together alongside Eric’s grandson, Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), in the Wishing Well Barn.

Eric, a mainstay on the ITV soap since 1986, has faced numerous hurdles in recent months, reports Leicestershire Live.

His relationship with Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) ended last year after he squandered her life savings on a failed cryptocurrency venture.

Brenda then departed the village for a global cruise with her former stepdaughter, Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling), in April.

Last week, Eric’s health deteriorated following a nasty fall at home, leading to his hospitalisation.

Kerry attempted to organise a carer for Eric upon his return home, but he quickly dismissed the woman due to their lack of rapport. Eric subsequently asked Kerry to look after him, but only if she accepted payment for her services.

While recovering from his injuries, Eric celebrated his 80th birthday on Wednesday (June 11), but was left heartbroken when a card from Brenda confirmed that she wouldn’t be returning to the village.

Eric said with sadness, “I don’t know why it is, but I always find a way to get rid of the ones that I really care for. I’m afraid, I’m a little bit too old for any change,” as Kerry offered a shoulder to lean on.

During Thursday’s (June 12) hour-long episode, Kerry and Jacob surprised Eric with a birthday party at the shop.

In the midst of the celebrations, Kerry overheard Eric confide in Rodney Blackstock (Patrick Mower) about his intentions to sell the Barn and downsize.

Worried about her own living situation, Kerry expressed her fears: “I know it makes sense and god knows I need to do something else with my life… It’s come out of the blue, but I can’t be your lodger forever, can I?”

But Eric had second thoughts, opting to rent out the Barn instead and proposing that Kerry and Jacob move next door with him.

Now, several Emmerdale fans believe that Kerry could plot against Eric and steal his money as she continues to care for him. Soap viewers will know that Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) did this to Ken Barlow (William Roache) in Coronation Street last year.

The speculation comes after Eric recently confronted Kerry when he spotted unusual transactions leaving his bank account. However, Kerry quickly confirmed that she had spent the money on products to make his life easier at home.

“Oh dear, Kerry with Eric’s bank card is giving Cassie in Corrie vibes. Hope they’re not going to copy each other,” one person wrote on a Facebook fan page.

Another added: “They’re getting close and turning to each other in difficult times, so a betrayal could easily happen,” while a third said: “Noooo please don’t make Kerry turn on Eric.”

Meanwhile, a fourth viewer shared: “If that is what’s happening that’s ridiculous, Kerry has done some stupid things but she wouldn’t do this.”
