John’s chosen family continue to say goodbye to John Black.

In the Thursday, June 12 episode of Days of Our Lives, there were more amazing memories shared. John’s chosen family continued their heartfelt goodbye to John Black. Meanwhile, Jack and Jennifer remembered Abigail while Julie continued to mourn and remember Doug. Plus, Hope felt guilty over getting Bo back while Marlena suffered such a devastating loss.

So it looks like we didn’t get to see the reception after John’s funeral. Instead, John’s inner circle was gathered at the pub to remember him in their special way.

They gave toasts, they shed tears, and they even drank to their enemies like Stefano DiMera and Orpheus. There were some really interesting beats played and iconic memories remembered.

At the pub, Marlena (Deidre Hall), Steve (Stephen Nichols), Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), Shane (Charles Shaughnessy), Roman (Josh Taylor), and Bo (Peter Reckell) reflected on the epic adventures, iconic love stories, and the man who was often at the heart of it all, John Black. While at the Horton House, Hope (Kristian Alfonso), Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes), and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) remembered the fallen, celebrated Bo’s recovery, and reconnected since they’ve been apart for a while.

• Beat #1: They talked about how they didn’t need to be blood. Instead, they were chosen family, which was more important to them. John struggled with his identity for so much of his life, but he had this chosen family the entire time.

• Beat #2: Marlena apologized to Roman for breaking his heart. When John thought he was Roman, that meant that Roman was gone to them. All these people had adventures and strengthened their bonds despite his absence. So, the Marlena and Roman moment near the end of the episode was significant. She apologized for breaking his heart, and he let her know that his bitterness was gone and he had grown to love John, too.
• Beat #3: Hope felt guilty about being so happy about Bo’s recovery. Meanwhile, Marlena was experiencing true despair. Julie wouldn’t let her feel guilty. They were happy to have Bo back, and she deserved to feel her feelings about it.
• Beat #4: Did the show open the door for more Bo and Hope? At first, Bo said he and Hope would probably sail the world again. But later, Bo and Steve talked about Steve’s impending retirement and how he didn’t want to do Black Patch without John. However, Bo pitched himself and Hope as Black Patch partners. Could this happen?

The Memories Keep Coming

The greatest hits featured included John saving Marlena from her devil’s possession. Steve saying goodbye to Bo and Hope as they left Salem on the Fancy Face to sail around the world. Bo and Hope dressed up like Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler. They even flashbacked with Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer during the doomed Cruise of Deception. Plus, Julie tried to talk some sense into Bo in Paris.

DAYS brought out the flashbacks and the memories along with toasts and, yes, tears. And it made for yet another memorable and emotional episode.
