Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins has called for the return of two more iconic characters, following Robert Sugden’s sensational comeback.
Fans were delighted to see Robert crash his ex-husband Aaron’s wedding last month and were even more thrilled to find out that actor Ryan Hawley will be reprising his role permanently.
Speaking exclusively to us at Inside Soap, Isabel – who plays Robert’s sister Victoria – says she is keen for more characters to come back to the village, including her adoptive brother Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) and her ex-husband Adam (Adam Thomas).
“Oh absolutely!” she exclaimed when asked if she’d like to see the return of these important men in Victoria’s life. “It was such a special time, but such a different time because I was so much younger.

“But if we did have the full gang back together it’d be beautiful. And I’d love Adam to come back and sweep Victoria off her feet!”

Robert’s explosive return was a welcome surprise for viewers, and Isabel explained that she knew they were filming something very special in these scenes.
“I was there and involved but I didn’t have much to do,” she said, “so I could watch it like an audience member. I remember when Ryan burst through the doors, I knew it was going to be such a huge moment.

“I couldn’t wait to see people’s reactions because I knew it was going to be iconic.”
It has been confirmed that Robert will be back to cause more chaos, once he’s completed his latest prison stint, and Isabel is excited to be back working with her on-screen sibling again.

“It’s like Ryan’s never been away!” she said. “He’s obviously got the history of knowing how it works, but the new kid on the block energy so he’s like a really giddy Labrador. It’s really nice to have that injection of energy.”
