It doesn’t look like any hatchets will be buried for Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) or Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) anytime soon in Emmerdale – except in each other’s backs.

Billy has got the absolute measure of evil Joe and is desperately trying to get his family away from him.

Clemmie became so full of hatred for Joe that she called social services and said she was afraid of him, such was her desire to have him gone and her family back together. She later said this was a lie, but she wasn’t done trying to get him gone.

Clemmie later went missing on Joe’s watch and turned up at Sam Dingle’s (James Hooton) where she told Joe to his face how much she hated him.

Seeing his kids so distraught, Billy wants rid of Joe, which is a real pain in Joe’s side.

In a bid to numb said pain, Joe tried a different tact, attempting to buy Billy off with the promise of a decent job in Liverpool – telling him he’d live away five days a week and see the kids at weekends.

Billy saw right through this and emphatically rebuffed Joe’s offer as the unscrupulous businessman branded him a loser, which was met with a swift and painful shove from his wheelchair.

But though Clemmie said she’d lied about being afraid of Joe, she still hates him. Later, while under his care, she went missing on purpose to cause more trouble, causing Billy to demand that Dawn leave Home Farm for their children’s safety.

But after a shared milkshake, things start to become smoother for Clemmie and her potential new stepdad.

With one problem solved, Joe can turn his attention back to getting rid of another thorn in his side. Billy.

When Clemmie’s phone goes missing, Joe spies an opportunity to pin the blame on jealous Billy, who clearly wants Joe out of the picture and will do anything to achieve it.
