EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa has let slip plans for a ‘love triangle’ for Penny Branning.
Speaking at the British Soap Awards, Penny actor Kitty Castledine suggested alongside Jacqueline that the character’s romance with Harry Mitchell could be revisited in the future.
However, Jacqueline – who plays Penny’s cousin Lauren – then dropped a big hint that another character could become involved.
“I can sense a little triangle coming. I say no more,” she told The Mirror.
No further detail was revealed, though Kitty did tease the prospect of romance, adding: “It’s EastEnders, so probably!”

Kitty also said it would be “great” to see Penny clash with Harry’s mum Nicola, saying: “Scenes with Nicola could be great. The thing is, they butt heads because they are quite similar. They’ve got similar attitudes.”
Meanwhile, Jacqueline teased some potential “returns” in the future, as well as some exciting storylines coming up.
“I’m a massive fan of the show. I am so excited for [what’s happening], cut to six months’ time, where the show will be [in six months’ time]. It excites me. You don’t know but we know. It’s very exciting.”

Lauren is going through quite a rough patch at the moment, with a dramatic split from Peter this week amid Peter blaming her for their baby Jimmy’s recent diagnosis of severe sight impairment.
Lauren also shared a kiss with Zack Hudson back at his flat, though things didn’t go further than that between them.
Speaking about whether things can be mended between the two, Peter actor Thomas Law recently said: “I don’t know because it’s such a difficult situation. It would take a lot of compromise from both of them.”
