Coronation Street has cast former Casualty star Richard Winsor, as new character Theo Silverton’s dark past unravels.
Theo, played by James Cartwright, made his debut on the cobbles in March, as a new love interest for Todd Grimshaw.
It was soon revealed that Theo had a wife named Danielle as well as two children. After his affair with Todd was uncovered, Theo decided to end his marriage, though he’s been desperate to keep his relationship with his children.
The scaffolder further explained to Todd that he was brought up in a religious household and had undergone conversion therapy when he was young.
The Sun has now revealed that Winsor will be joining the soap as Noah Hedley, a former member of Theo’s conversion therapy group.

Noah will make his debut next week but in a twist, he will arrive on the cobbles as a friend of Todd’s ex Billy Mayhew.
When Theo sees Noah in the Rovers waving to Billy it causes him to rush out of the pub. Theo later confesses to Todd that Noah was present at his conversion therapy.
Cartwright previously discussed Theo’s traumatic history with conversion therapy, saying: “It’s like anything in life – things can be explained to you, but understanding [and processing] them is a different thing.

“Because his parents were privy to the conversion therapy, it’s a much bigger thing.
“If you start to unpack that as a thing, fully, you go, ‘Okay, my mom and dad, the Church, all my friends who I grew up with [and] the family friends are complicit,” he added.
“I think he knows it wasn’t okay, but he also has to process it for himself – he wants to just be happy.”
