John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) is a man on the edge in Emmerdale. As his wedding nears ever closer, more threats start to arise, making holding onto all of his secrets seem more difficult than ever before.
We know that local medic John sees himself as a bit of a hero. He often orchestrates terrible events and then rushes in to fix them, looking like an incredible person to those witnessing the incident unfold.
This has happened with the likes of Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter). These characters remain under the impression that John Sugden saved their lives, unaware he also put them in jeopardy too.
One person who continues to cause problems for John in upcoming episodes is Aidan Moore, his old lover from the army.

At the hospital, John continues to support Vic (Isabel Hodgins), who is still waiting to be told her son Harry can go home.
Just as he goes for a walk, John bumps into Cathleen, who assumes he’s been notified about the development regarding Aidan.
John reluctantly heads to the ward with Cathleen and to his horror, as soon as his name is mentioned, Aidan opens his eyes.
The next day, John gets word that Aidan is now out of his coma which leaves him with yet another problem on his hands. How much does Aidan remember about John and their life together?

As time ticks on though, it becomes apparent that Aidan is still non-verbal. With Harry also heading home, John feels hopeful that things can carry on as normal.
However, back in the village, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) has been doing some digging into Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) disappearance, and with the lake due to be dredged in the coming days, John will have an awful lot more to juggle when word gets back to the residents that Nate’s body has been hidden in the water since last year…
Will John and Aaron’s wedding even go ahead?
‘I have never been a part of a story like this where it’s gone on for so long that Aaron has been oblivious while the audience get the full detail and I watch with interest to see what happens’, star Danny Miller told us recently, discussing this storyline and what’s ahead for Aaron and John.
‘It’s a typical soap wedding, I guess. ‘There are a lot of surprises along the way, it’s not a normal wedding in terms of it being straight-forward; it’s very different.
‘They decided to show a new way of how we tell stories, to try and keep up with Netflix and Amazon and these brilliant dramas being made. So it’s a bit of a special episode, there are a fair few surprises, a couple that are huge and a couple that people will really enjoy – and some that people won’t!
