Emmerdale‘s John Sugden sought payback on Mackenzie Boyd in a sinister new revenge storyline.
John and Mack haven’t seen eye to eye since John’s arrival in the village and Mack has gone out of his way to suggest he doesn’t trust him, being protective of his friend – and John’s fiancé – Aaron.
It was for the sake of Aaron that the two agreed to get along for the paintballing stag do, but a surprise trick from Mack during play left John angry, leading him to later enact revenge.
Tonight’s episode began with an exuberant Mack, who sought out Aaron, John and Victoria Sugden to show off his paintballing spirit.
Mack surprised them with a water gun, decked out in full camouflage – but an unimpressed Moira soon arrived and dampened his good mood telling him to get back to work and sort the slurry pit out before the party begins.

Later, John arrived at the farm for a quick chat with Mack ahead of the stag do, with Aaron worried about “bad vibes” between the pair that could ruin the day.
“No tension here, you and me get along great, see besties,” Mack responded, giving John a playful, yet forceful punch on the arm.
Mack was the last to arrive to the paint-balling and intrigued the rest of the stag party with the large backpack he was carrying.

Mack was on Aaron’s team, with John the captain of the other team and play began enthusiastically.
At one point, John spotted Mack sneaking off and running into the bushes and followed him.
John waited to get Mack with his paintball gun, but it was Mack who beat him to it, shooting John before jumping out of the bushes in a full Chewbacca costume (that was obviously in the rucksack).

Seconds later, Aaron’s team declared victory but John was unhappy and claimed that Mack’s Chewbacca stunt was a distraction tactic so they could win.
The full stag party carried on the celebrations at The Woolpack, with both Mack and Aaron getting a bit worse for wear.
John was encouraged by the stags to make a speech, which was met with applause from everyone except Mack, who took himself outside in disgust.

John found Mack outside and claimed that Mack was jealous of him to which Mack laughed.
“You might have fooled everyone in there but not me, because I can see right through you and it’s only a matter of time before Aaron does too,” Mack responded.
An inebriated Mack stumbled off to Moira’s, while John took a drunk Aaron home.

Chatting away, Aaron told John that he noticed how Mack winds him up and that he needs telling.
“Yeah he does,” agreed John, before walking out the house.
Viewers saw John next on the farm, acting suspiciously. The episode ended with John deliberately opening the tanker, spilling slurry everywhere and setting Mack up.
