1. Kat makes a discovery

For Lily, the pressure quickly takes its toll, but the teenager is determined to keep things together – and even hides the truth from Kat and Eve.

However, her secret is exposed after Freddie realises that the 15-year-old has been skipping school to catch up on housework.

Worried, Freddie confides in Kat and asks her to help him and Lily. Once Kat visits at her family home, she feels worried by what she finds.

2. Linda offers guidance

Having recently given birth, Lauren struggles with baby Jimmy. Peter is on hand to offer his support, but he privately feels anxious about his fiancé’s history with addiction.

Meanwhile, Lauren feels upset after an altercation in which Cindy urges her to convince Peter to put the past behind him.

While the mum-of-two worries about her parenting skills, Linda turns up at her door with a gift.

Sensing the mood, the Carter lady then convinces Peter to leave the house, so that her and Lauren can have a chat.

An honest conversation ensues, and the two women open up about their respective struggles with addiction – before Linda encourages her friend to listen to her maternal instinct when it comes to Jimmy.

3. Zack devises a plan

As Nicola’s threat lingers on his mind, Zack is relieved when Whitney informs him that her and the two girls are living somewhere safe.

Once Vicki hears the update, she advises Zack to visit his family, in order to put distance between him and the Mitchells. Afterwards, Zack crosses paths with Barney, who tells him that he’s feeling isolated from his loved ones.

In response, the dad-of-two informs Vicki that he plans to visit Whitney – with his son in tow.

Later in the week, Zack hunts for evidence that Barney isn’t safe with Nicola and Teddy.

As Vicki grows worried about Zack’s new plan to leave with Barney, will Nicola suss him out?

4. Nigel reflects on his family

On numerous occasions now, Nigel has shown how much he misses Clare.

So, when her 40^th birthday comes around, Nigel finds himself feeling gutted that they’re no longer in touch. Yolande advises her friend to reach out, but the churchgoer ends up on the wrong side of Nigel later on.

Will Yolande find a way to make herself heard?

5. Harvey gets his marching orders

With Jean out of town, Kathy and Harvey revel in each other’s company. Although, the pair still feel guilty about their relationship, and Kat makes matters worse when she sacks Harvey from his job at the cab firm.

As Harvey frets about his future, will he have to find another profession?

6. Peter hears worrying news

For Lauren and Peter, tensions remain high as they await their appointment with the health visitor, Belinda.

Once the session starts, Lauren explains her concerns about Jimmy, but Belinda’s response only frustrates her further.

Peter, on the other hand, is more concerned when Belinda privately mentions that Lauren could be showing signs of post-natal depression.

Elsewhere, Cindy does her best to convince Ian to unite with her for Peter’s sake, but the Beale patriarch refuses to budge.

7. Lily breaks down

On the back of her discovery, Kat takes it upon herself to restore order in her family.

For starters, the Slater woman calls a get together with Alfie, Eve and Suki – where they discuss childcare arrangements, as well as Stacey’s state of mind.

Worried, the group consider that the grieving mum might need professional help.

Soon afterwards, Stacey stumbles into the meeting in the kitchen, but fobs off her cousin’s efforts to get through to her.

Later, Lily feels overwhelmed when she realises that her mum won’t leave her bedroom.

8. Lauren fears for her baby

While looking into Jimmy’s eyes, Lauren notices something that triggers her concern.

The protective mum tries and fails to secure an appointment with her doctor, so she races to the paediatric ward.

At the hospital, Lauren insists on being seen as she believes that her little one is blind.

Will she find the help she needs?

9. Stacey feels devastated

For the first time in weeks, Stacey finally leaves her house. In fact, she even goes one step further and offers to host a family meal. But for Kat, the invitation sparks concern as she worries that Stacey is returning to normality too soon.

At No 31, Stacey forces a sense of happiness, but disaster strikes when she realises that her coat and mobile phone must have fallen into the bag that Freddie has taken to the laundrette.

Horrified, Stacey explains that precious voicemails, photos and texts from Martin live on her phone – and they will be gone forever if she loses it.

10. Louie sparks concern

At Walford General, Lauren insists that baby Jimmy needs to be examined.

While over at 29a, Peter becomes stressed out when he returns home to find that Lauren isn’t there. Unfortunately, his panic worsens when Louie mentions that he saw his mum taking pills.

With no idea about what’s happening at home, Lauren becomes increasingly irate until her midwife, Hannan, steps in.

Having assessed the situation, Hannan calls Peter and expresses her fears that Lauren has succumbed to old habits.

Before long, Peter, Ian and Linda arrive at the hospital – where Lauren is baffled at their suggestion that she has relapsed.

11. Alfie is alarmed

As Stacey rushes to find her phone, Arthur tells Alfie a secret that leaves him feeling troubled.

In the meantime, Kat and Lily try to calm Stacey down, but they fear that she is experiencing a bipolar episode.

Subsequently, Alfie decides to share Arthur’s words, which leads to an incident that pushes Stacey and Lily’s relationship to the brink.

Is this the final straw for the mother and daughter?

12. Jimmy receives a diagnosis

Eventually, Hannan listens to Lauren’s concerns and suggests that a consultant should look over Jimmy.

Miss Ayub is tasked with examining the baby, and she informs Lauren and Peter that Jimmy is severely sight impaired. Understandably, the two parents feel stunned as try to take in the diagnosis.

Later in the week, Lauren and Jimmy are free to return home from the hospital. Once back in Walford, Lauren confides in Stacey, then shares a meaningful chat with Lily.

Next, Lauren shares an emotional moment with Peter, as she tries to reassure him that everything will be okay.

How will the Beale family cope with the difficult journey that lies ahead?
