Emmerdale exposes Joe Tate’s darkest secret tonight as he’s publicly confronted over his role in causing three deaths.
Joe’s dramatic downfall sees the villain urged to explain himself over the tragic loss of Suzy Merton, Leyla Harding and Amy Wyatt. But is he ready to be honest with anyone yet? Don’t count on it…
The gripping scenes play out during a lavish party at Home Farm, which is thrown to celebrate Lydia Dingle’s 50th birthday.
Joe is in attendance alongside every villager who has a grudge against him after his destructive behaviour in recent months. Sure enough, it’s a recipe for disaster.
Earlier this week, Ruby Miligan decided to tell Charity Dingle the truth about how Joe spiked her son Noah on the night of the crash.
This sparked the chain of events that caused the tragic limo incident, as a dazed Noah stumbled out into the road and Charity was forced to swerve the vehicle to avoid him.
In tonight’s episode, one villager sensationally exposes Joe’s guilt during the party, leaving him scrambling to explain himself.
This gives Kerry Wyatt, who’s one of the party guests, a major motive for wanting Joe out of the way. She reflects on how her daughter Amy would still be alive if it weren’t for Joe’s twisted games.

Emmerdale bosses have confirmed that tonight’s episode sees one sinister villager take the ultimate revenge against Joe by pushing him from an upstairs window.
So, could it be someone linked to the limo crash victims, or is this a red herring? Fans can see how the story plays out in full when the episode airs tonight at 7.30pm on ITV1, or right now on ITVX.
Ned Porteous, who plays Joe, recently told us: “Somebody’s always got it in for Joe – he doesn’t have the easiest life! But then he kind of asks for it, I suppose!
“I think there’s a more tactful way to go around doing what he has to do. He’s put in quite tricky positions, but you have to find a reason for motivating your character for what he’s doing.”
He added: “When you’ve managed to piss off everyone in the village, it makes for a very interesting ‘whodunnit’ storyline.”
