This was the first time that Hunter opened up about Garrison after his death. Hunter shared a series of photos on his Instagram account featuring Garrison and his other siblings.
Sharing the photos, Hunter wrote, “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”—Dr. Seuss. Hunter further added, “Happy Birthday to my Boi! Love you, dude!” He further suggested that people remember to spend time with those they love!

TLC recently telecast a special episode to remember Garrison and his legacy. In the episode, each member of the Brown family talked fondly about the youngster and also revealed how they learned about his death. Kody’s first wife, Meri, shared that she was in between an interview when she got a call from her ex-husband. It was an interview about her birthday with TLC, and the crew asked her if she wanted to take the call.
At that time, she didn’t think it was important, so she said no. She added that he could text me if he needed anything. Meri explained that she found it weird that Kody had been calling her right now, but she assumed that it was not urgent. When Kody called her again, she was confused. She was about to text him when she realized something was wrong and checked her messages.
Kody informed her about Garrison’s death via a text, and she announced to the crew that it was an emergency. Meri further explained that she answered the call and looked alarmed. Her face paled, and she went blank. It became increasingly difficult for her to utter words, and she became emotional. Janelle, who was sitting beside her, then explained that her son, Gabriel, had found out that Garrison had committed suicide.
Meri further added that she went to Kody and Robyn’s house and ran into Gewen. The two hung onto each other and didn’t know what to do. The former then frantically called Janelle to check on her and promised that she was coming over. Meri further added that it was very difficult for her to see Garrison for one last time.
