Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) find their plans for a romantic getaway scuppered when they’re almost caught out by Jean Slater in EastEnders (Gillian Wright).
Harvey and Kathy have been carrying on behind Jean’s back since growing close last year, sharing a brief kiss as their friendship took an unexpected turn.
This turned into a full-blown affair after the death of Martin Fowler (James Bye), as grieving Harvey and Jean took solace in each other’s company… and bodies.
With all that’s going on in the Slater household, the time’s not right for Harvey to leave Jean just yet, so he and Kathy have been taking advantage of their time together wherever they can get it.
But with Cindy’s imminent return to Walford threatening to expose Kathy as her attacker, she’s more in need of comfort than ever, and Harvey puts together a romantic getaway for them both.
But are they about to be caught out as Jean catches wind of their plans?

In upcoming scenes, Kathy is on hand to help out as grandson Peter Beale (Thomas Law) celebrates his engagement to Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa).
Following a fault at The Albert, Kathy moves their party to Harry’s Barn, with Gina enlisting Mo, Jean and Nigel to help out with the preparations… badly.
Kathy helps talk a stressed Lauren down when it all gets a bit too much, convincing her to rejoin the party.

But disaster’s not averted for long – and the gathered families are left shocked at the sudden arrival of Cindy Beale, returning from her self-imposed exodus from Albert Square.
This is particularly bad news for Kathy, who confessed to attacking Cindy prior to her exit from Walford.
And, as the partygoers reel at Cindy’s unexpected return, Cindy retaliates by exposing Kathy as her attacker.

Later, back at No.31, Kathy seeks comfort in Harvey’s arms. The pair are interrupted by Jean, who almost catches them together.
Luckily, she’s too preoccupied worrying about Nigel Bates’ (Paul Bradley) dementia to have noticed what they were really up to.
Deciding to take Kathy away from it all, Harvey invites her away on a caravan holiday.
However, their plans are spoiled when Jean finds the holiday brochure. And, as the Slaters assume that the plans are for them, Kathy and Harvey’s getaway is left in ruins.
