Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher has shared his past crush on former co-star Claire King.
The actor and Strictly Come Dancing winner, who played Andy Sugden on the ITV soap between 1996 and 2016, made the revelation while talking about the latest scenes involving Kim and Joe Tate on his Off Script podcast with wife Liz.
“I think we’ve got to give a special mention as well to Claire King, of course, who plays Kim Tate,” he said.
“So she started Emmerdale in 1989, I remember when I started in Emmerdale, I started in 1996, and quite a few characters become soap legends.
“I think Kim Tate is iconic, you think of Emmerdale, and as regards as an actress, having worked with her myself, she’s just a fantastic team member.”

“Looks amazing on camera, I used to have the biggest crush on her” he added, to which his wife playfully warned: “Hey Kim, watch it!”
Kelvin then shared his admiration for the star, saying: “So many people do! Everyone adores her because she works so hard, she cares so much for the show and the audience love her as well. She’s just a brilliant character!”
It comes after Kelvin revealed that he narrowly missed out on a big Coronation Street role over 30 years ago.

“I once auditioned for Corrie,” he said on the podcast earlier this month. “It was actually for a little boy called Jamie who Jack Duckworth took under his wing, and I was down to the last two with Joe Gilgun.
“He obviously got the role… A year later I ended up in Emmerdale and the rest is history.”
Kelvin did still did appear on Corrie, however, as he is credited with playing ‘Lad’ in an episode from the ’90s.
